I brush mine wet with my Denman. I don't notice any breakage from doing it. I notice more breakage when it's semi dry or dry. But once I have my bone combs, I will switch to those to see if there's a difference in the amount of hair I see.

I can only brush or comb my hair when it's wet, soaked with conditioner. If I try to wait until it's dry...
I'd rip my hair out.

Same for me. Sometimes, I gently use a soft brush on my edges if I am sleeking my hair back in a bun or something. But I never use a brush on the entire length of my hair when dry.
Whenever I put my hair in a bun or ponytail I ALWAYS wet the brush first and then brush my hair up. My whole head is not wet or soaking wet. It stays better that way. Is this also damaging?
I haven't used a brush in over 3 years and don't miss it -- I can detangle, smooth, so whatever I need to my hair with combs and my hand. Just curious why BRUSH rather than comb to detangle? Maybe I'm missing something here . . .
I think people are misunderstood when talking about brushing "wet" hair.
It is ok to comb or brush hair while having conditioner in it and to detangle it.
But I think what people mean when they say brushing wet hair is a no no is rinsing out the conditioner or shampoo then take a regular brush and just start brushing from the top of your hair and trying to pull the brush through ripping hair out.
Also there is a difference between "wet", "damp" and "soaked with conditioner" hair
Nay - this is how I took it but I know I probably didn't make it clear in my post! I would never take a boar's bristle brush to my hair while it's wet.
I only brush my edges (for smoothing) after I wash my hair and am ready to put it up in a bun or ponytail. I never brush my ends, and I use a generic tangle tamer comb to detangle my hair in the shower while it still has conditioner in it.
Ok so how am I gonna get my hair up into a ponytail or anything, seeing as I'm dammed if I do, damned if I don't? Cause I can't use a comb, it'll loosen the curls to much. Help?
I have bad experience with brushes - wet, dry or in between! I try to do my buns when my hair is wet so that I can just smooth with a wide tooth comb and my hands. It is not easy though! I get very tempted to brush it, but I have too much breakage in the front and crown, so I try not to use it.

I use a comb to smooth my hair...I just don't run the comb all the way through the ends. I stop at the point where I will put on my barrette. That way, the front is smooth and the back is still curly. Hope that makes sense. I use a fine tooth bone comb, my hands, and shealoe butter.

Ditto.
Wildchild some naturals use a brush through the lenght of the hair to detangle wet with conditioner. Thus the D4, D3. But I would never use brushes to just be brushing. Unless of course I was smoothing the edges.
