Brewer\'s Yeast Fiasco

With all the good info on brewer's yeast, I had to try it. I went to the health food store and asked the clerk to help me. He showed me the brewer's yeast in pill form and in powdered form. I asked him about the powdered; he told me that not only is it absorbed faster, it is good in protein drinks and two tablespoons in a shake is much easier than taking the 6 pills recommended daily. The powder seemed like the ideal choice...Until...I got home and mixed that stuff with my drink and Yuck, I about threw up right then and there. It was nasty! I gave it another try this morning,and this time the smell got me before I took a drink. I couldn't finish it. Maybe others would like the stuff, but if you are picky at all, get the PILLS!

brewer's yeast is nasty as hell but at the time when i was using it, it grew my hair and nails........i stopped taking it because i was too cheap to buy more

. yes, you have to develop a serious tolerance for this. try it in yogurt w/ some honey added or a big glass of orange juice. drink fast. to me, this is no worse than taking a tbsp of flax seed oil. that taste literally makes me shake. worst taste ever. so i eat the seeds in yogurt.

I agree you definately have to acquire the taste for it!
I take the Twinlab brand. i just mix a tablespoon in my Orange juice twice daily. the juice covers the taste and it mixes rite in!! Ive been taking it like this about a month now and am convinced it helps me with growth and overall healthy hair.

The tablet smells bad so I can just imagine how it would taste.

I have a tub of Brewer's Yeast here that I never touch. I can't even force myself to take that stuff. No honey, nor sugar nor orange juice is strong enough to mask that disgusting taste. I take the pills.

I have used it in hair packs with Molasses and Mayonnaise. My hair was nice and thick and moist. Bonjour.
