I read her black women rejoice report (thank you ARMYQT) and it seems she does NOT deep condition, blow dries, does not use hair oils or grease at all, self-perms EACH MONTH but her hair seems to be in ok shape, considering (quite short though cos she trims each month with the sharpest scissors on the planet [SSOTP] each month!!). for those who have read the report what are your thoughts??

I didn't really like her report AT ALL. No let me rephrase that I didn't like her report AT ALL. lol.

We all know here what will work for one will not work for another, and I know that no oil on my hair or scalp, perming EVERY, month, and trimming each month is not going to benefit my hair.

Why trim unless your ends aren't healthy or you want to even up? If she's perming her new growth and trimming the ends each month she's going to get crap results. Like for me personally I have to moisturise my hair and scalp after every wash, relax every 2 calendar months, trim once a year (and when I say trim it's more like a dusting~ I'm blessed that I don't get split ends) , and I have to D.condition every time so her advice won't work for me.
I'm not of of those models in the commercials who seem to be able to wash and go.

Plus I didn't like her Q&A section where she seemed to disregard the whole use of moisture. It works for her I guess. I just know it doesn't work for me. And furthermore I didn't like her hair. Sounds cruel but **shrugs** Oh well i'm being honest (thinks confessional thread on the OT board - don't hold nothing back LD /images/graemlins/laugh.gif)

Pandora does she have any new pictures on her report or the same ones from a few years back?

Oh okay I have heard of that report. I just didn't know the woman's name. Someone actually reposted it, (illegally obviously) at another hair site. I have to admit I am stuck up in the sense that I am reluctant to follow the advice of a hair care "expert" who is not either a licensed professional or have hair cascading down their backs. It is otherwise just someone's personal regimen and like you said, may not work for everyone. I mean Cathy Howse, Brenda Silker and what is the other woman's name, the one who made the ponytail method? All of these women just try to make money posting their own regimens. For that matter, I have braids, I spray them with rosemary oil, sage oil, sulfur oil and infusium everyday. I wash once a week with diluted clarifying shampoo and sleep in a silk scarf. Someone give me a million dollars! I take cash, money orders and all major credit cards. Please no checks and no C.O.D. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Me too London, but you know Wanakee is worse because she was pushing expensive products along with her regimen. I dig Robin's hair too. You see? I only look at women with mid back to waist length hair. The rest of them gets no love from me.

Honey rockette, Armqt fwd me the report free of charge. london diva, i didnt see any photos in the report but there are some on her website.

I want to follow your regimen, what is sulfer oil?

some of her ideas in the report are unbelievable! she reckons hair grows at 1/4 inch per month BUT 2 weeks before a monthöy perm u should....wait for this.....trim the top half of ur hair by 1/2 inch and the bottom half by 1/4 inch (NO TYPO!!) and that it should give your hair a 'co-ordinated look /images/graemlins/crazy.gif). she says grass grows faster the more they are cut so keep trimming your hair like that each month to make it grow!! wow!! where on earth will the growth come from if it is being chopped off each month. how misleading. no wonder her hair is short and there have been no real new pictures. she is trying to get her manual into beauty schools /images/graemlins/crazy.gif man, i just couldnt believe some of the stuff i read. she also said it is important to trim the hair 2 weeks before a perm otherwise the hair will 'react' to the cut /images/graemlins/crazy.gif HOW SO?? since hair is dead /images/graemlins/confused.gif

IMHO this woman is a straight up idiot. Where is she going with all this cut cut cutting of her hair every 4 weeks. Not everyone's hair grows in at a quarter inch per month like her hair may do. And why on earth is she comparing hair to grass? It's my understanding that there is life throughout the whole blade of glass, whereas hair is dead. If you were to compress grass I'm sure water would come out of it, and when it's evaporated then it becomes dead and straw like and unable to grow again. Hair is so different to that. Has she not done any calculations in terms of how much her hair is growing and how much she cuts a month?? That picture she had up on her site is shorter than my own hair. When I purchased her info (which I regretted cause I learnt it all on here) my hair was WAY shorter than that. I can personally say from experience that no trimming is not stimulating my hair follicles to grow. I trim once, maybe twice and that's a slim maybe, a year only. And that's more like a 1/8 of an inch.

UGH the more I read her stuff the more incensed I get. She advising women the wrong way about a lot of things (not everything) just a lot of things that are not going to benefit some women in the long run if they want to grow their hair long or very long.

[/ QUOTE ] We have enough problems with the stylists we have already, than having to worry about these ones, if they get a hold of her manual and start snipping at every possible opportunity.
Every 4 weeks a perm and a trim....WHY???
Yet she states her hair only grows 1/4 inch per month. I ask again WHY???

That's gonna cost you! Just kidding (sorta). I dissolved some solid sulfur to make an oil. Kind of like making tea. Hope that helps. Expect my bill in the mail in 7-10 business days. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

HoneyRockette

a few ?'s

How are you finding the sulfer oil?
How long have you been using it?
Is your sulfer yellow in colour?

I agree. She lost me when I read the post that said you aren't supposed to moisturize your hair. Yikes! I'd have a Brillo pad on top of my head! And (again!) how are you supposed to notice growth if you're cutting off 1/4" every month? /images/graemlins/confused.gif
I would like to see some photos of her hair when she started and some photos of what her hair looks like now.

$20 for a 35-page book? Child please...

I read this report too. I also purchased it. I also wish there was some kind of class action going against this woman because I would at least like my money back.

All I'm saying is: If you cut the top half of the hair a 1/2 inch a month, and the bottom half a 1/4 inch a month and your hair grows 1/4 inch a month - then the bottom 1/2 of your hair would stay the same length each month and the top 1/2 of your hair would get a 1/4 inch SHORTER every month.
Add that to the fact that the hair would be completely overprocessed in a year, and basically....its not a good look....

She should have called the report "How to Grow a Damaged Mushroom Cut in a Year Without Even Realizing It".

LOLOL
Thank God for the Internet. I was tempted to buy this report a few months ago. What made me stop and think twice was:

1) Her hair looks kind of frizzy.
2) The double-talk on her website. #1 sign of a scam!
3) $20 for a 35-page "report". /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Could anyone send this "report" to me? I think I could use a good laugh! If you can, please respond to this post and I will send you my e-mail address. By the way, what is her website? Her hair must look REALLY funny.

On average, hair grows 0.5 inches per month, no? How unfortunate for her to be one of the people on the bad side of that curve! If her hair really only grows 0.25 inches per month and she cuts 0.5 off the top half of her head [speaking of which, she has to have a permanent part-line or else risk messing up her pattern], she, like others on this board have astutely observed, would have a net LOSS of hair on the top half and no difference on the bottom half! Would that not mean then that she ought to be bald (especially since she staunchly does NOT advocate moisturizing) in but a few short months? /images/graemlins/wink.gif

LMAO,
Calista

Hi Bubbly and welcome to the board. /images/graemlins/smile.gif If you'd like a copy of the report, send me an email. My email address is listed under my profile.

Ya know, you CAN get your money back according to her website. She says to email her with why her plan didn't work for you and she will refund the cash no questions asked. She even brags about the fact that no one has ever asked for their money back. I say take that bragging right away and be the first! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I bought her report and I found it interesting in parts, however I am sticking to Cathy Howse's regime, it seems to work for me. I rinse my hair if not every day, it is every other day and it seems to work also with my improved healthy food programme.

Hi Armyqt,

I checked under your profile and there was no e-mail address listed. If possible, could you please send the "report" to my e-mail address? It is . Thanks!

Hey Bubbly, sorry about that. I thought my email was listed. I just sent the report to you.

Hiya SVT!

I'm glad you "replied" me because I forgot I wanted to put the quote up from her website where she says she will refund your money. There is SO much reading on that site, I am sure everyone misses it.

And I quote /images/graemlins/smile.gif :

Q
Subject: BLACK WOMEN'S HAIR
How can I get the full information? How do I know this is not a scam? = I'm willing to risk my hard earned money, I hope this really works.

Hi ****,
I know exactly how you feel and I promise you this is not a scam. The information is simple in concept, yet you must follow the details to the letter. If after three months you think this information does not work, you contact me and I will send back your money. Again I must emphasize that each issue must be understood and followed. And if for some reason you do not understand, I encouraged you to contact me and ask.

the pictures on her websites have dates on them. u will notice that her hair has remained roughly the SAME length over the years.... /images/graemlins/crazy.gif plus she reckons her weird way of cutting hair each month should achieve some awesome styles but she does not demonstrate this. her hair is meant to be relaxed but it looks halfway between natural and texturized to me....i keep asking myself whether this thing is a sick prank that got out of hand!!! /images/graemlins/mad.gif

also she doesnt say dont use moisturizer. she says wash and condition the hair when it feels dry. therefore, water=moisturizer, wash the hair each time it feels dry. i cant believe she is charging more than 20 buck for what does not even amount to a pamphlet let alone a book.

Armyqt or anyone else...could ya please send me this report ()?

I'm thinking this was a prank. How could all that misinformation be FOR REAL? /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/mad.gif
