Hello Ladies! I'm so excited about finding this site.

I'm hoping I can get good advice with my hair problems. I have(had)fine textured hair, now over processed and is dry, brittle and the ends are tangeled (and seems to have static). I've used Mizani for years and no problems until I started deep conditioning on a regular basis (with in the past 4 months). I had this problem before but it was due to overprocessing (with relaxer) and coloring

Since you ladies have gorgeous hair and know what works, I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Also I want to start using more natural products. Thanks a bunch!

First of all,

Now, what kind of products do you use? Why do you feel the need to deep condition every time you wash? How often do you perm/color? When was the last time you had your ends trimmed?

Again, WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!

Ditto with Dolce Dawn. Also, do you use heat when you deep condition? I ask because, many ladies complain of tangling when heat is used. I also deep condition with every wash, but I wash every 2 weeks.

Welcome to the board!

Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo by LUSH is good for getting hair squeaky (literally) clean which can help reduce static.
It has actual Irish Stout and Cognac oil in it, which provide B vitamins via the yeast content.

Since you say your hair is/was of fine texture, I'm not sure if I would recommend any oils. A light serum, however, can be a great back-up for moisture.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture (NTM) Healing Shine Serum provides both moisture and shine. It's a light serum, so I don't think it will weigh your hair down and it's not greasy.

For natural products, try Aubrey Organics. www.aubreyorganics.com They sell trial sizes on their website. From this company, I would recommend their JAY shampoo, the White Camellia Jasmine shampoo (contains protein) and the GPB deep conditioner.

Thanks for the warm welcomes and quick responses for this is truely an emergency (on the verge of chopping off!)

The last 2 I was making an experimentative daily moisturiser today and think I just have an oily mess that won't do a thing!

I decided to deep condition my hair every time I wash because I read it in Cathy Howse's book unless I miss under stood. (by the way I tried her system in '02 and it was working but I wasn't able to care for my hair like I wanted in '03).

I relax my hair every 6-8 weeks depending upon how active I am which causes new growth.

My ends were last trimmed in May and the bizarre things is I had some breaking and frizzies and what not before the beautician trimmed and no problems for about a month.

I colored my hair in '01 and the last of it grew out in the early part of '03.

Here's another question is a hot oil treatment too much for my hair or is the brand/type I'm using? I've noticed that after I rinse it out my hair feels hard and brittle even while wet. don't let me are dry then it's so hard and crispy I could probably put somebody's eye out. then i put oil and/or mizani curling wax and it's shiny and looks good from root to midway then it looks like a broom from mid way to ends.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllpp!
(I hope this isn't too much info to process.)

If you are using the Mizani Purifying shampoo too much, you might be stripping the natural oils from your hair. It is a clarifying shampoo. Try using the Mizani Botanifying shampoo and make sure you use a good daily moisturizer.
