I am constantly worried about my hair type me and my mom deduced that I am somewhere in the three range b/c when I relax my hair has absolutely no wave/curl (mild motions relaxer for about 10 minutes) except for the front and kithcen areas which I think are def. 3C.
Also, how much new growth should i have b4 I take out my braids. Ive only had them in for 3 week but they are starting to look "ratty" and I have over 1/2 inch of new growth.

Please Help.
TIA,
Adrian

I don't think there is a rule about how much new growth is needed before braids can be removed. If there is, I've never heard of it. Depending on how well my braids hold up I would keep cornrows in 2-3 weeks and individuals in 3-4 weeks or however long I can stand(I get bored quick). But no longer than six weeks because build-up and locing would cause me major hair loss, but bear in mind that's just me. Have you ever worn braids before? How long did you keep them in?

Agreed. They say not to leave them in longer than 2 months though.
