braids and flakes

I have never had flakes when i got my hair briaded but for some reason i have an insane amount of flakes and itching. Why?

I've never had braids put in but if you haven't had the flakes & itching before, it could be a reaction to these new braids or any different product you may have put on your scalp. Have you done anything different with your diet? Drinking your water?

Did you treat the hair before you used it, from what I understand that some people have reactions to stuff that is left on the hair from manufacturing.

I apply sea breeze to scalp everday or every other day when wearing braids and use Better Braids Braid Spray.

well i really didn't do anything new however i am transitioning for the first time. She also put vaseline on my new growth because it was out of control but i wouldn't have let her had i know she was putting vaseline in my hair! do you think it has something to do with the vaseline?

My scalp with vaseline would become flaky and itchy, but its perfectly clear without it, so yes. It probably does have something to do with the vaseline

thanks soulchild! that was actually the first time i had vaseline put on my scalp and i have never had flakes like that! I am gonna wash it out tonite!
