Braiding Technique

Hey Girls,

I have tried to start braiding my own hair. I was partially successful, I was able to attach the braids and make them look nice. The only problem is that I can not get the braids on close to my scalp the way I want them.

I was wondering if there is a technique that I should try that will help me attached the braids better.

Congrats on braiding your own hair!! I don't know if you do this already, but you could try separating the hair into three strands...the tension is what will make your braids tighter at the top...it just comes with practice.

I have the same problem, especially when I do cornrows, It's always like an half an inch away from my hair line, I guess practice makes perfect.

Faith told me that the closeness comes with practice, and I think that's definitely true.
