Braid Haters

Question, for you ladies who wear braids, do you get hassled about how they look ! My father gave me the 5th degree about my braids & how much he hated them! he said that I was to old for them ( I'm 37 ) and they didn't look right on my face. Now others like them and the size that they are. I know I shouldn't let it bother me, and do what suits me best! Braids are the only thing that will help me keep lenght while my hair grows out ! I always get box braids slighty smaller that a no.2 pencil. Does anybody else get static about their braids !

Sorry you are going thru all that drama with your dad...I've always gotten compliments on my braided styles. It could be a generational thing, ya know? I think some old school people just think that braids or having natural hair means you're apart of some pan-African movement or something. Pay it no mind.

My ex used to be like that...big time. And he used to be really insensitive while he was at it. He'd tried to make it seem like he was praising my real hair but I really resented how he'd look at me as if I was medusa. Ironically, it seems like everyone else liked them. Needless to say, that's one of the reasons why he's an ex. At any rate don't let it get to you.
