what are you ladies doing with your hair to care for it while it is in braids?

Also has anyone ever gotten tree braids? please tell me your experience...

TIA!

When my hair is in braids, I basically follow the crown and glory method-just, I didn't know what it was until two days ago. When I wanna shampoo I dilute the shampoo and concentrate on my scalp. I also make sure I keep my hair moisturized and I do scalp massages.

I have installed my own tree braids before-it was easy peasy once I started and I liked the versatility that came with it. There are a few different ways to do them I believe, I installed them like singles/individuals. HTH :)

I wash and deep condition every two weeks, but i don't dilute the shampoo, just massage it directly on my scalp and let it run through my braids as it washes out.

I moisturize every 2 days, and when i moisturize i spray with water first so it absorbs easier into the braids..

i seal with castor oil. Thats about it.

When i take out my braids, my hair is usually a little on the greasy side, but i'd rather greasy hair than dry hair :)

I wash my scalp with Giovanni Tea tree or Trader Joes Tree tree once a week then apply and cheapie conditioner like VO5 Moisture Milks as a leave in.
I moisturize my hair with a mix of African Pride Braid Spray and Infusium 23 every other day.
