He bought the Nexxus Botanoil Shampoo and Nexxus Ensure Acidyfying Conditioner. I told him he also needs a moisturizing conditioner, which ensure isn't. He thinks he knows everything because his ex (who owns her own hair salon and whose hair color looks scarier than Babs from MTV Making the Band

) said that is all his daughter needs (she's a 4). Please let me (and the know-it-all) know that she needs more for her hair than what he purchased (by way of conditioner).
He informed me that it was a deep conditioner (ahem... by deep he meant if she leaves it on her hair for 15 minutes she'll b fine) b/c that is what the ex said.

The Ensure conditioner is NOT a moisturizing conditioner it is meant to bring down the pH of the hair and close the cuticle. Just to make it official, I copied this form the Nexxus website:

Ensure Acidifying Conditioner and Detangler
Promotes smooth, tangle-free hair
• Closes cuticle and eliminates static electricity
• Adds instant shine and lustre
• Adds body without making hair heavy
• Excellent colour additive to enhance depth of colour
• Controls oxidation during colour & perm services
• Fortified with NexxuSpheres

Ensure Acidifying Conditioner and Detangler is a pH3 formulation that combines advanced NexxuSphere technology with Nature's finest conditioning Botanicals to promote incredibly smooth, tangle free hair. Unlike traditional conditioners, Ensure leaves the hair lively and bouncy, never limp or lifeless. Grapefruit, Aloe, Geranium, Comfrey, Avocado Oil, Protein and time released Nutrients improve hair strength, elasticity and manageability. Ensure may be used on all hair types after every shampoo to eliminate split ends and static electricity, leaving hair full of body with remarkable sheen.

FORTIFIED WITH NEXXUSPHERES
Advanced microsphere technology provides the gradual release of hair strengthening Ceramides, replenishing Nutrients, Antioxidants and UV Protectors. A NEXXUS exclusive, this breakthrough, time release feature gives hair sustained health, softness and radiance.

DIRECTIONS: Apply to towel dried hair. Comb through. Leave in 3 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Nexxus themselves never use the word "moisturizing" in this product description. This could be used, but in addition to a moisturizing conditioner....perhaps afterwards if the moisturizing conditioner doesn't have acidfying properties.

HTH....but she really needs a good moisturizing conditioner to keep her hair from becoming dry and brittle.

Tell him to look at his ex's hair and that should do all the convincing!!! You got me rolling

with the hair worst than Babs comment.

Does his daughter have virgin hair? Just asking because if not she may need a good protein conditioner as well. Tell him she needs a moisturizing conditioner as well and your hair board said so. I'm not familiar with Nexxus except for Emergencee, but I'm loving At One With Nature Botanical Reconstructor (which is not really a reconstructor in the protein sense).

he thinks her hair looks nice so that should account for his taste. And his daughter's hair has been relaxed. It's very thin tho, a 3" long portion in the back is broken off but it's grown considerably. I try to do her hair but i like to rollerset and her father doesn't want me to "heat up his house"

. I do believe she needs a protein treatment but you know how some people don't want "unprofessionals" messing with their child's hair.
And I think ex wanted him to spend money in her shop b/c Nexxus in a beauty parlor prices is OFF DA HOOK!!!

Well--if he had to spend money in her shop--at least he could have bought this:

Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner

• Moisturizes the innermost structure of the hair
• Protects the hair from sun's damaging ultraviolet rays
• Excellent for kinky, curly and permed hair

But really though, I don't think she even needs Nexxus products. How old is his daughter by the way?

Well, if she is natural or relaxed, she will need a moisturizing conditioner, and something to moistruize the hair afterwards. The botanoil, makes me think she is relaxed, cause that is what i used when I was relaxed. If she isn't Therrape would be more moisturizing shampoo, and add humectress to that as a moisturizing conditioner and leave-in. That is if he must use nexxus. I agree with you caramelhonee.

i have some leftover humectress (i hate the stuff) that i'll give 2 him but his babex should have told him about that already. I mean, i am not that hair literate, but i do know wth a moisturizing conditioner is...

and i don't understand y someone with a license would tell him to leave the ensure in her hair for 15 minutes and that would suffice for her permed hair.
nuts.gif
Is it just me who thinks Babex should get a refund on her license or am i just hating?

If I remember correclty, you have beautiful hair(hurr) so that should be proof in the pudding right thurr!! LOL (sorry don;t know where that came from).

Let him try it out, then intervene SOON!!!

It's sad to think that his daughter's hair may suffer because you're not a licensed professional but she "is".

Sounds to me that you should leave the girls hair to his ex. She owns a shop?? Let her deal with it. "Heat up his house"???? I have no comment for that. If your hair looks good and grows then eventually the daughter will come to you. But it sounds like un-necessary arguments to me.

No, she's 9. the ex didn't touch her hair, her mother takes her to another parlor in harlem about once a week (which i honestly find hard to believe because honey's hair never looks nice)... but boyfriend asked the ex to recommend some products for his daughter's hair while she stays with him for the summer. Sorry for all the confusion guys.
arguments, me

i feel like this, if i know something u don't know, esp. regarding hair and what i learned, i am most definately going 2 share it with you but he knows that i use my bonnet dryer once a week at his crib and the house is on FIRE, little does he know it'll take about 25 minutes for his daughter's hair to be dry and i will have her looking like a little dime piece
