Bouquet Toss

Are you going to do the traditional bouquet toss? Do people still do that? I kind of want to save my bouquet.

I did it, but my florist gave me a bouquet to use strictly for the toss. It was just a cheaper version of my bouquet.

^^I'm not married but like the post above the brides I know had a second "throwaway" bouquet made for the bouquet toss.

It's YOUR day and it's all negotiable.

The flowers will be real.

There will be a very small number of single ladies, but they're all older like we are. The last few weddings I went to I was dreading that they might do the bouquet toss & force the singles out. I really don't want to make my single friends feel that way cause I know people treat you like you're weird if you're not married at a certain age.

I had been considering a throw away bouquet if we do it, but I just didn't know if it was acceptable to just skip it.

There are a lot more people passing on the traditional bouquet toss. Some people say it is embarrassing to single out the unattached ladies. I actually wrote a blog post about this topic and alternatives tot he bouquet toss a while back.

I saw on a wedding show where the bride didn't do the traditional bouquet toss but instead gave the bouquet to the longest married couple. I thought that was a nice twist.

How do I access your blog?

I didn't do a bouquet toss. What I did was a married couple dance and the DJ eliminated people until the couple who were married the longest remain standing. In our case it was Hubby's grand-parents married for 59 years! They gave us advice to a long happy marriage and we presented them our toss bouquet. I thought that was more fun than making people uncomfortable with the toss.

We're doing our renewal and DH's grandparents were married for 55+ years until they passed last year. Instead of a(nother) bouquet toss, I'll take my bouquet to their graves.
