Has anyone tried the blow press by willie marrow. I spoke to someone at their company yesterday, and she says it has no chemicals. And people use it, who are grow out their relaxer. Check it out.

Anything that says "alkaline" - even if it is a naturally occuring element, could have a chemical reaction on the hair.
