I like to play around a little with different techniques when twisting hair. See what I like and what I don't like. So, I'm thinking next on the list is doing twists on blown out type 4 something-or-other hair. I've fallen in love with ORS lock and twist gel. It feels very moisturizing. Like it could be a moisturizer if it wasn't for the hold.

My question is, if I use this water based hold product, won't it just make my hair completely revert back to pre-blow dry state?

Not entirely true. I twist on both wet hair and blown out hair. The state your hair is in before it's twisted provides a different end results (for me). Using a water-based product, when my hair is wet, I can expect a longer lasting, shorter twists and twist-outs. Using water-based product when my hair is blown out (by a blow dryer) before twisting, I an expect twists that do not last as long but look longer and as a result my twist-outs will appear longer as well.

Of course when using a water based product on blown out hair, I am using a reasonable amount to where my hair is not completely drenched, but with enough product for appropriate use.
