Blending your transitioning hair while its humid

So I've been half wigging it up. And while I'm getting great growth and retention, this recent heat wave has hit me with the okie doke! I'll be fine once I leave the house and feeling good, then when I get to where I'm going and especially if its a club, my hair just goes to sh!t. I cant stand noticeable fake hair, it's a pet peeve of mine. i'm thinking I'm going to retire my half wig until winter just because of how bad this is.

Is anyone else experiencing this? How do you deal? I'm currently wearing tammy, which was supposed to be good for transitioning hair. Maybe I'm leaving too much hair out??

I'm having the same problem. It's awful.................I really don't wanna do a BC because my head isn't quite shaped for it but at this point I don't know what to do!!

I agree, in the summertime it's damn near impossible. lol

I will either do a twist out, a roller set, or a blow out and just pull it up into a banana clip ponytail/bun. Boring—yes, but at the end of a humid day outside, the stark difference between the two textures are so drastic. It looks ridiculous so I am constantly having to set my hair at night.

I have not been blending it. At first I was like :perplexed but now I just can't be bothered.

My only solution is to pretend that I'm natural. What I've been doing for the past few weeks is bunning my hair. I just do my side part, smooth it down, put on my trusty headband and put the back in a bun.

At this point half of my hair is natural and the other half is permed.

OMG I THOUGHT I WAS ALL ALONE IN THIS! Thank you ladies for responding! I was going crazy for a second!

When I first started wearing my halfy it was looking good (june) and now I'm like wtf is going on...did I leave the house like this? why didn't my friends let me know I was looking crazy thinking I'm cute. I thought about getting a sew in but there's no point to that either bc I'm still gonna puff up.

I'm gonna let my Tammy retire until winter and just work it out with rollersets and buns until then.

Thanks ladies!

Hi ladies. I cannot fight the humidity, so what I do is start with a light blowdry on medium and apply some sort of anti-humidity cream (l'oreal has a great one). I'll apply perm rods on the relaxed ends and just wear a curly updo until my next wash day. This helps blend the two textures without being damaging to my newgrowth.

At night, I smooth on a little moisturizer and tie down with a silk scarf. This has been working so far for me this summer.
