I got a sew in installed about a week ago. I got sensationnel goddess remy brand. First mistake I think I made was I got a color lighter than my hair forgetting that I would have hair left out. This was my first install so I wasn't thinking about that. I am also transitioning and haven't had a relaxer since so u can see the diff texture esp at the roots. I just washed my hair today since having it and flat ironed the leave out hair so many times and its still not as straight as I want it. I also have this problem with everyday styling. I have to flat iron the leave out hair sooo much to try to blend it. I'm afraid when I take it down I will have heat damage and breakage on the left out hair. Any tips???

if its real hair you can always dye the weave hair. Also i think you should go back to ur stylist and ask her if she can do an invisible part so you wont have to blend or you can get a lace closure peice for up top. those are the only things i can think of without having you get completely new hair and getting it reinstalled. also if you are going to leave hair out in future sew ins you should opt for curly ones that blend better with ur hair.

you may also want to consider roller setting your real hair that's exposed. it won't help w/ the color difference issue, but at least you won't have to flat iron it everyday if you don't want to.

Aww sorry laurend about your hassles.

does your blow dryer have a comb? that helps get it straight for me initially. what heat setting are you using? I iron at 380 and it gets straight in one pass and I wrap overnight or even try silk wrapping it around your edges. If you want to, rollerset the hair, that may work.

Good luck and I answered your PM.

The fact that your hair is darker than the weave hair is probably adding to your blending difficulty. The color difference makes it more obvious. I'd go back to the stylist and have them do a closure so your hair isn't left out. More than likely that left out hair will suffer compared to the rest of your head from the constant manipulation when blending.

My hairstylist is 4.5 hours away so I can't just go to her to dye it. By closure, do you mean a weft? I heard her telling a client that she doesn't like those so she doesn't use them. I don't what I was thinking when I got the hair, for some reason I was thinking I could try a different color not thinking about the left out hair. I wish my stylist had just told me to exchange the bags. She commented that it was lighter but made it seem as if it wouldn't be a problem...:wallbash: I may end up takin this hair down sooner than I want to.

if you have any hair left...i would glue in a small piece where your hair is out and it should make it blend a lot better and you should not have to flat iron as much.

Just my two cents -- I'd stay far, far away from glue on your head...

I think a closure is your best option. Google closures, they are not the same as a weft.
