BKT for weightloss?

Ok, in a way I'm being silly, but there is some truth to this for me. I'm a natural and I work with a straight natural. She presses her hair once either every week or every other week. We've both been talking about losing weight but she's had some trouble finding a way to keep her hair as she would like to work out daily. She does not wish to bun and sweating would cause reversion. She's decided on braids, but it leaves her rather dependent as she can then only work out regularly, as long as her hair is braided.

Since my BKT at the end of April I've shed 20 pounds really easily. I have so much freedom by being able to rinse or cowash whenever I want and either wet bun or wash-n-go. This allows me to work out 4 days a week without worrying about my hair or struggling to look good after a morning workout. I decided to share pics.

My goal is to loose 30 more pounds, just as easily as the first 20 :yep: :drunk:

Update 7/11/09 I'm down a total of 25 pounds! 25 more to go :D

Whatever makes it easy for you to get your workout on, then thumbs up.

But I wouldn't necessarily say that BKT can be used for weightloss. I do get what you're saying tho. But the weightloss part has more to do with the individual than the BKT. The BKT just made it easier for your hair. You did the workouts yourself. Congrats.

Sheba, I get what you're saying!!! I have been so confident to work out in the morning before work because I don't have to worry about my hair looking like a big bush. I also work out during luch at my job because I hair still looks good with all of the sweating.

I have lost 7 lbs during the last month. I'm gunho to continue working out and not worrying about my hair. Actually I have been a part of the hide your hair for 6 months, so I just have my edges exposed, but they remain straight if I flat iron my hair.

Congrats on you weight loss!!!!!!

Actually, I feel my natural hair is easiest to work with for working out. I cant wash it anytime, pull it into a wet bun or puff and go. Hair is only an excuse, not an issue.

Congrats on your weight loss!

I get what you're saying. I know for me, working out is easier when my hair is in twists because it's an easy style and I can easily untwist and do my hair afterward. And with all the options out there, bkt included, there's no reason to let hair stop you from working out, that's for sure.
