Have any of you women experienced any negative effects on your hair due to birth control?

yes, i took ONE Depo Provera shot a couple of years ago. girl, my hair was coming out by the handful!! i never got a second shot. it took about 6 months for that to get out my system. the shedding decreased drastically but i still had some. then i took Ortho-Novum, which also caused quite a bit of shedding. so the last one i took was Yasmin, which caused much less shedding but it was still bad IMO. so i don't take any now. the shedding fluctuates now, but it seems like that first Depo shot opened the flood gates...

OK, I guess Depo is out of the question

, thanks for the info!

Ortho Tri-Cyclen made me shed like a molting bird. I thought my hair was SUPPOSED to shed like that so I paid it no mind. This is my second year on it, I believe and the shedding has greatly decreased, thank goodness. may i mention that it made my face look like a connect-the-dots picturebook.

I thought the same at first to until I came to this board and found out that It might be the birth control that was making me shed like crazy. After I stop taking them I notice my shedding is not that bad anymore. It made you break out,

the reason why I started them in the first place was so it can clear my face up. It cleared it up quit a bit, but after it got to a certain point it stayed the same. that's why i didn't mind dropping them.
