I have heard a few girls mention this.... I have been taking over 10 mg of biotin per day for a week and thank goodness that is not happening....

Can someone explain this phenomenon??

Thanks!

My scalp itched like the dickens within 7-10 days of my starting to take 5000 mcg of Puritan Pride biotin. (This was in a ddition to the biotin that already in my other supplements.) Prior to that I had taken 2000-3000 mcg per day of the Vitamin Shoppe brand biotin and later the Country Life brand. I never itched. My father swore I was having an allergic reaction!

My hair seems to be growing at the same rate.

The itching was driving me nuts so after a week or two I cut back to 2000 mcg per day.

Well I'm taking about 13 mg right now with all my supplements combined. This is only for the first 2 weeks. I will then cut back to about 6.3 mg.

I am currently taking country life but just ordered the freeda and will start that next.

I really don't want the itching...maybe it was the base of puritan pride?? For some weird unfounded reason I don't trust the following vitamin companies

Puritan Pride
GNC
Vitamin Shoppe

What about my VS brand Noni Juice?

I don't trust GNC products, either. They are always getting into trouble about false claims.

I've been taking puritan pride for almost 2 monthes or so now and I've never got any itching. I first use between 4-5mg per day, now I've been taking 7mg for the past weeks and still no itching, so I guess it depend on certain people. I've measure my hair again and it has grown 1.5 inches since the last 2 months that I measured. But I always thought I grow this much last year also. I hope my hair growth speed up with the extra dosage.

Thanks, Ineedmoney they aren't my daughers.. one is my niece. That had a great time as flowergirls that day.
