To get this look you'll need to plait your hair, so you have two options. Plait and sleep on it the night before for a great look in the morning, or plait your hair in the morning and wear it all day for a fun daytime look and a great style at night.
STEP 1: Shampoo hair and follow with a deep conditioner, such as Aussie Three-Minute Miracle Reconstructor (£5.29 for 250ml). Apply conditioner liberally on the ends, as this tends to be the driest part of long hair. After gently towel-drying your hair, apply a liberal application of a moisturising styling lotion and comb through to evenly distribute.
STEP 2: Part hair down the middle. You will be plaiting it in rows starting from the scalp and working back towards the base of the head. Using your comb, divide off a one-inch section of hair closest to your part at the hairline. Begin plaiting at the base of the head and continue using moderate tension. Secure the braid with a coated hair-band.
STEP 3: Continue plaiting the top row in this manner until you reach the back of the head, then begin another row just down from the first, until that side of the head has three complete sets of plaited rows, top, middle and bottom. Repeat the process for the other side.
STEP 4: It is important that your hair is completely dry before you undo the plaits, which, depending on the thickness of your hair, may take several hours. Before taking out the plaits, try a test strand from one of the back bottom rows to make sure the hair is completely dry.
STEP 5: Remove all hair-bands and carefully unplait the hair using your fingers – don’t comb it, as this will make your hair frizzy. The look you’re going for is textured and tousled waves.

Why doesn't he say to just use a lace front wig to achieve the look.
So true Country gal!:lachen: I'm sure my type 4 hair isn't going to get that same effect!!!

It really frustrates me that they lie like this... We all know it's fake so just move on w/ life. At least talk about what u do to your real hair. That is just ridiculous.:ohwell:

That hair looks like wet and wavy color #30 piano style or mixed.
Who knows what her real hair looks like it's been years. Even the hair color commercials are weaves. Beyonce's laughing all the way to the bank.

i was going to say this after reading the article but i know beyonce has some fans on here so i left it alone :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

I guess these tips are for all those hopefuls that think they can acheive such a "look." Now, when I actually see the process being done (I mean front row center then and only then can I take it seriously).

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen: Funny and True....They lie...say snap a wig on and you will get the look. lol....

thats my issue with magazines like sophisticates and hype hair... they show you how to style weaves...  Then they do "interviews" with celebs about how to care for their hair and don't show what their actual hair looks like. It could be busted up under there and we'd never know it.:ohwell: I don't know how many of y'all saw Nivea's tangerine hair in sophisticates . . . the issue before last... her advice to grow healthy hair ? Trim it often.:look:

I know, right? :lachen:

If they want to give us the scoop on how a celeb does their hair, why can't they tell us everything that is done in the haircare regimen? And I get so sick of those magazines showing all these different hairstyles and in the illustrations and instructions are the exact same for every hairstyle... WTH?

See, this is a part of the problem so many black women are having with their hair... being mislead by the media and hairstylists! :nono:

Okay...I only came into this thread to read the comments, because I know good and well Beyonce isn't trying to give anyone hair tips

Ditto to everyone's comments. Pure Schtupidness. I don't know how these stupid magazines survive on this nonsense anyway. I've been wondering this for years. If it's not Beyonce, it's Janet Jackson, or some other celebrity. Give me a break! Hellloooo we know it's a weave. I'm not hating on the Celebs. I'm a huge Bey fan. But these stupid mags kill me. No place has the knowledge, advice and support that LHCF has. Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toodles ladies,
Sexyma

I cant stand when they lie about thier hair..what a turn off!

It really isn't them lying, it's the stylist. Half the the person might not actually know because many times the stylist are being interviewed for such magaxines as Hype and Sophisticated Balckk Hair. I recall seeing one on Missy Elliot and they were describing the weave as if it was hair. When I came to LHCF, I stopped buying those magazines becasue most of the styles in them were weaves and alot of the hair care tips were bogus.
