Is this just for braids or can I use this to spray in my hair daily as a moisturizer (like Dew)?? I'm desperately looking for a substitute for Dew!! It's just too expensive; there HAS to be something else out there that's comparable to it??!! I'd appreciate any suggestions!!
I'm not sure what brand it is, hairlove!! I know I've seen a few posts on it here in the past - I did a search, but I still don't know whether it's just for braids or not. As for making my own moisturizer, I'm not really into the kitchen chemistry thing... but maybe I will end up trying that...
All you need is a spray bottle (cute pink ones work best), some of your favorite thick and good smelling conditioner, some distilled water, and any kind of oil (I use proclaim 7).
I use a couple of squeezes of conditioner, then fill the bottle with water, add maybe a teaspoon of oil and you're done! I don't do exact measurements! I use this ALL the time to redo my braidouts.
I don't know how many times I've gone to the beauty supply with my bottle of Dew looking for something that has the same to similar ingredients. I have found absolutely nothing that even compares to Dew. I have the one used products and receipts to prove it. I will be so happy if Dew gets distributed in beauty supply stores. The price is good, I can't stand the shipping fees.
Dutchess,
Nice to see I'm not the only one!! I bought the Better Braids Spray, because it was only $2.99!!
I sprayed it on my hair today and it was really oily and felt sticky on my hair!
I'm hoping maybe it was because my hair already had a bunch of other stuff on it. I highly doubt that I'll be able to use it every day. It seems like a heavy-duty moisturizer that I'll only be able to use on bun days, and when I know I'll be shampooing in a couple of days!!
