Best Texturizer -- Affirm or Mizani?

affirm!

affirm is milder so it gives you more time to apply and smooth. mizani is a good deal stronger. i had been using affirm for nearly a year and i was able to texturize myself. i just applied a mizani mild sensitive scalp for 7 minutes and my hair is straight!!! ugh!

I would choose affirm lye. I used both when fully relaxed, mizani processed very quickly and left my hair a little drier than affirm.

I don't know if this helps anybody at all, but I went to a hairdresser who uses both Mizani and Affirm. I asked him a lot of questions and he sounded knowledgeable enough. I asked which would be better, HE said it's not really so much about the relaxer as it is how it's applied/handled. He suggested Affirm mostly because it comes with so many other things such as a conditioner/reconstructer, etc ( I can't remember all the things he said was included).

I think its the way you smooth it. I just texlaxed my hair lightly. I put the relaxer on without smoothing, because that helps make your hair strait. I apply my relaxer and wash it out in 2 minutes. When I smoothed my texturizer the last time, it got strait. I use a relaxer to texturize. hope this helps. By using this method, I still have the look of natural hair, with less shrinkage.
