Best Store Bought Hair Color?

I used Revlon Colorsilk over the weekend and I got very mediocre results. VERY. I want to color my hair myself (dark brown to light brown) but not sure what to use. Suggestions???

I used shea moisture in Auburn to get the red color I wanted. It came out beautifully. It did leave my hair drier though I was able to get my hair feeling normal after 2 dc.

I also use SM but I use light blonde. My hair has never felt dry. I recently used jet black on my mom and she loved it. No dryness at all. She's still amazed at how soft it is.

Textures and tones is great. I also like Feria.

I colored with Dark and lovely a couple months ago and it took a few washes for my hair to feel healthy again.
