I welcome any suggestions? I am strongly considering relaxing my own hair from now on.

Mizani Sensitive Scalp No-Lye Relaxer is very good. I usually always have some type of tingling/near burning no matter what, but when I had this applied at the salon, it felt like conditioner. Not the slightest tingle at all!

Just so you know, sensitive scalp is NO-LYE.

I have been seeing reviews about phytorelaxer on this board?
Anyone use the mild phytorelaxer

REALLY? I didn't know that! I have been using a LYE relaxer the whole time I've been relaxing! Oh, well! Thanks for letting me know. I just assumed it was lye! See, that's why I don't go to stylists anymore. She didn't even ask me whether I usually had a lye or no-lye applied, and that was her 1st time applying a relaxer to my hair! Maybe that's why it didn't burn, Well, it came out really good anyhow!

I would think that mixing the lye and no lye is dangeres, any one else do this?

What makes you think of doing your own? Do you think you can do it with out overlaping, or rinsing all the relaxer out of you hair with out burning or getting it in your eyes???

I have never had a stylist ask me if I preferred lye or no-lye. AND, I did not know the term sensitive scalp relaxer meant no lye until last year.

I have a semi sensitive scalp and I use Elasta QP regular. I just base my scalp really good and don't wash or scratch my scalp for at least 5 days before I relax. I keep the relaxer on for 20 minutes and I usually do not burn (I do feel some tingling though).

Well, the last few time that I have gotten a relaxer at the salon, it has burned my scalp. She used design essential on my hair. I am at the point that I feel that I could put it in myself. I would take my time to base my scalp really well and wouldn't keep it on so long.
