I don't know if there is a "best" product but I think all in all the products you use should be extra emollient and have plently of humectants and occlusive agents to help shrink wrap moisture too your hair strands.

First off make sure you hair has low porosity for real for real....I mean make sure it isn't product buildup. Also, using hardcore protein on a regular basis can affect your porosity. Not saying that is always a bad thing, just be mindful.

From observations here, silk protein seems to be helpful. My theory is that the small molecular weight of silk helps it sink into the hair strands and bring along moisture with it. Increasing deep conditioning time can help and add heat. Heat will help drive the conditioner into the hair strands. Before rinsing after deep conditioning with heat, let your hair cool off.

Bumping...I'd like to know also.

I believe she (Gymfreak) has mentioned demi-permanent hair color for low porous hair.

Yep, I mentioned that before. Demi can help open your cuticle a little bit. It doesn't strip your natural color either and you can get just clear if you don't want to mess with your color. If it interests anyone, just pm me. I have some links that can give you more information to see if it might be something that would help your situation. Demi last about 28 shampoo's. Alot of women with really thick heavy hair also get demi because it can give hair more body, that comes courtesy of the slight increase in porosity.

Thanks Gymfreak! You are the best! I'm laying off the protein for real (I've been a good girl) and I'm gonna stick to clear rinses. I just always thought you were only supposed to do them after a relaxer. Thanks ladies
