I have 4a/b mostly b hair and in the future want to purchase a flat iron that will actually do what it says I realize ceramic is the way to go but there are so many to choose from anc that expensive chi and others like it are too expensive for me all suggestions are welcomed TIA

All I have is a Vidal Sassoon from Walmart-$9. I've been going heat free and haven't used it in a while, but I was always happy with the results. Lately, I have seen the flat irons labeled "ceramic" at Walmart for $20. Don't have a clue if they are any good.

The Jilbere model #JB5555.

Also check out some of the fancier brands on eBay. I've seen Chi's, Hai's, etc for under $100.

Is the hottest what one should be going for? In terms of healthy hair

Well, probably not.. but some people will need more heat to achieve the results they want.. does that make sense?

If you're getting a Jilbere, avoid the ones with the felt covering

Does the felt began to peel off after a while? I just bought a Jilbere with the felt.

I have the Gold N Hot ceramic flat iron. It gets my hair silky straight and it doesn't snag the hair. I keep it on a low setting because it gets VERY hot. I prefer Gold N Hot's ceramic flat iron to their regular flat iron.

does it get hotter than their regular iron? I have the jilbere and the gold n hot regular flat iron. I like the gold n hot better than the jilbere cause when i use the jilbere my hair puffs up again in like a minute

LOL WHEN I SAID CHEAP I SHOULD HAVE BEEN SPECIFIC I MEANT 45 OR LESS! LOL BUT THANKS TO ALL WHO REPLIED I HAVE HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT JILBERE I MAY CHECK IT OUT CERAMIC ONE

I have a Jilbere Porcelain Ceramic Flat Iron that I bought from Sally's. I used a heat setting of 15 but it still left a very slight wave in my natural hair. I would say though, that this Jilbere worked great on my relaxed hair.

i have the jilbere 1inch ceramic with the felt cover. it works great silky and shiny results. i use it on setting 25 once a week ( thick , texturized hair) BUT, the plates are coated with ceramic and starting to rub off so... im looking for a new one. ive had it for about a year and a half.
