Ladies, lately there have been so many rave reviews about Aveda. I want to try some, but I first want to hear the reviews and see the war for the best products! So, vote and then don't forget to leave a post advocating your favorites!

Allandra, is the smooth infusion line just really good for detangling? Or how does it work?

I started using the Damage Remedy Line 3 months ago and I love it.
I use all three products (shampoo, conditioner and treatment). I also use the Brilliant Universal styling creme for moisture and I want to buy the Brilliant Damage control for heat protection.

For my hair, it does well at smoothing it out and detangling. JLove has been using it a lot longer than I have, and she's posted some very good reviews on it here at the LHCF.

Aveda Damage Remedy...I've been using it for a little over a year and it has dramatically changed the health of my hair.

I've only used the Smooth Fusion Line twice, so the verdict is still out on this one.

Allandra has me wanting to purchase the smoothing fluid now.

Allandra, do you think the smoothing fluid is better than the Emollient?

I've never tried the emollient. However, this is the best serum I've ever used.

I just purchased the Damage Remedy Line from the Mall @ Green Hills yesterday. For the price..........this stuff better be da sh*t!!! I almost hyperventilated when she gave me the total!! The directions for the Treatment say to leave it on 3-5 minutes............is it okay to leave it on with heat for 30 minutes?

TIA.

Hey C-diva, I leave the intensive treatment on for 30 mins w/a plastic cap under the dryer... Then I rinse and follow with the aveda dr conditioner... Its good!!

I always leave mine on longer. HTH

I love the DR line and voted for Brilliant also because I love the Serum, USC (universal styling cream) and the Pomade.

My favorite line, Sap moss wasn't listed. I voted for the Brilliant line and other. Both of these are good at detangling and providing mositure to the hair.

Damage Remedy- A year ago my hair was breaking, and I tried many products. The combination of the DR shampoo, conditioner, and the Intensive Treatment were the only products that stopped my breakage immediately.

Smooth Infusion- I purchased the S I shampoo & conditioner as soon as it came out, and after using ,my hair was super easy to detangle (I'm 100% natural) and my ends were even smoother and thicker looking than when I use the DR. But I always have to use the DR when I'm going to use heat in my hair.

Brillant Line- The poo & cond. are my least favorite now compared to the DR and the SI; they are no match when it comes to providing moisture, slip, and detangling compared to the other two lines.

Now the Brillant line styling products are Excellent for keeping my hair straighter longer and provide body and shine and a feeling of weightlessness to my hair. My staples are: Universal Styling Creme, Damage Control (excellent for providing heat protection when blow drying my hair), Emollient Finishing Gloss (for pressing), Anti-humectant Pomade (for pressing my edges; It's the one in the white jar.) And the Humectant Pomade (in blue jar) for when I do braidouts.

My other Aveda staples are: Light Elements Smoothing Fluid (excellent for pressing my hair) it's a lighter version than the Emollient Fnishing Gloss, the Light Elements Reviving Mist- I use when my hair is natural and I want to keep it moisturized; I just spray it on, (it's really just pretty smelling Lavendar Flower water, but I love the way it makes my hair smell.) The Flax Seed Aloe Sculpturing Gel, I use for my braidouts; The Hang Straight straightening lotion, I use for blow drying my hair, (it's lighter than the USC). And the Phomollient Styling Foam, I use for when I rollerset my hair.

Great breakdown :) Thanks for the review :)

I have the entire DR line, but I want to try the SI line, and I'm so excited to get it tomorrow on my pay day!! YIPPPEEEE!! I also have some of the brilliant line: USC, Anti-Humectant and Humectant, plus Damage Control and the serum.

I'd like to try the Light Elements, but I wonder if it's good to use when you don't plan to use heat?

I L-O-V-E Aveda...mostly their skin care products but I really like their styling products as well....

For styling I like the Control paste, brilliant line for shine and finish... Ive used their shampoos and conditioners and although I liked them it wasnt worth switching from Nioxin....or whatever else I use...

I only use the facial wash, haven't tried any other or the face stuff. I definitely have never used any of the hair stuff. This thread is just what I need to make decisions. Again, Thanks!

I  my Aveda DR!!! I have used items from the Brilliant line, also, and will be trying the Smooth Infusion soon. But the Damage Remedy is the ish!

i LOVE LOVE LOVE, LOVE LOVE LOVE AVEDA!!!!:spinning:
i use the sap moss shampoo only and the rest is the brilliant line. just happened that way. i am dying to try the S.I. line and i will very soon.
the DR poo and con i just used the other nite and i gave it good reviews also.
i used to use their skin care line years ago but aveda wont give me a discount so i moved on other good lines!

I used Aveda DR line yesterday. I left the treatment in for 30mins under a plastic cap. I can tell you that I have had alot of shedding and breaking. This line is wonderful!! To me it was worth the money....! I give it a A+!

Aveda DR is my fav line from them now
Love Smoothing fluid
Brilliant Damage spray. Good for being out in the sun and heat use

Bumpity Bump.

I would like to hear more about the Light Elements and Hang Straight products. Can one use on hair without heat?

Come on, ladies. I know there are more lovely Aveda Queens out there...;)

I love the Damage Remedy line! It makes my hair so much stronger and healthier. I haven't tried any of the other lines yet though. This thread reminds me that I need to go and get some more!:)
