I actually forgot how good this clay is. Yesterday I used it instead of shampoo and co-wash with Aussie and use Aussie 3 minute miracle. Then i used a leave in, moisturized and sealed. I did finger curls and went to bed. Today my hair is so soft and it was very easy to work with this morning. I got a beautiful puff with super soft hair.

I was just doing a search on rhassoul clay and came across an older post from you about how much you like bentonite and how it made your curls pop. I haven't used the RC for a minute now, but my hair sure did love it when I did. I think I will order some....

I got my bentonite from Whole Foods (sorry, smile) and I wound up giving it to a friend because it and my hair did not get along for some odd reason. I get my rhassoul from Mountain Rose Herbs. I am on the site right now ordering some RC and irish moss.

so bentonite clay is a cleanser? i ask because i just bought a jar from whole foods & i have no idea what to do with it outside of slapping some on my face!

This stuff is fabulous! I just love how smooth it makes the hair feel afterwards

Bentonite clay can be used to replace shampoo it cleans the scalp. Makes you curls pop. Adw I just bought some rhassoul clay.:grin:

I'm thinking about trying bentonite clay. Does it rinse out easy?

It always rinses out of my hair very easily. Make sure you don't let it dry on your hair though, I always wear a plastic cap while it's on. I also oil my hair with coconut oil before I use it (I always oil my hair with coconut oil before I wet it).

Oh and make sure to really scrub and rinse your scalp well. If you're lazy about it like I am, it will still be stuck on your scalp.

I have always used bentonite on my face. Yesterday, I tried it on my hair for the very first time and let's just say I'm speechless. :lick: I added a couple drops of jojoba oil to the mixture and my curls are on and popping!!! I have heat damage in the front of my hair from a heat happy stylist... and now those sections actually have some curl to it. I am highly impressed. I will cleanse every three weeks with bentonite and use a ACV rinse the other weeks to cleanse my scalp.

So you have to wet your hair before you apply it? Can it be applied to dry hair like henna?

yep! that's how i did my application today. mixed up the clay, added a bit of honey, put it on my dry hair in sections, kept it on for an hour, and it rinsed out really easily. it made my new growth super coily, soft, and springy.

I don't wet my hair first. I apply coconut oil to dry hair. Then 20-30mins later I add the bentonite clay. Since I mix it with water I just make the mixture more yogurt like instead of clay like.

i just bought some indian healing clay, is that the same as bentonite?
someone said it loosens the curl, is that true because i dont want my curls to be loose at all.
oh and what do you mix yours with.

yep, that's the same stuff!

it DEFINITELY defines your curls more. i'm 9 weeks post, and my new growth is really coily and defined. for me, it didn't necessarily stretch or loosen them out, though.

i can't keep my hands out of my roots. i've never had defined new growth on dry hair before.

This is the kind I bought yesterday. I plan to use it this weekend...Im soo excited!!!!!:grin:

I Bought the Aztec Indian Healing Clay too several months ago. Haven't pulled it out yet. msa told me a great way to use it w/o leaving any residue, so whenever I decide to do it, I'll just add a little water and apply.

Charm: Please post a Review when you use it. Thanks

I really like this clay. It took some of the weight out of my hair, which I wasn't feeling at first tbh. After a few days, I realised it's made my hair so much easier to handle. It cut out some of the frizziness. Best of all, I get less single strand knots now and I think the clay has a lot to do with it.

I don't use it for my scalp as I cant get it on there properly but it makes my hair very clean and soft. I didn't seal my hair after I used it (that was accidental though) and it was fine.
