Hi I was wondering are there any growth aides that work that can be bought in a beauty supply , im not against grease ..... Thanks:grin:

Hi :) If you take good care of your hair and you are a relatively healthy human being, you do not need to use any growth aides to retain length and to grow healthy hair. I personally do not believe in topical growth aides but maybe some others will disagree.

Good luck :)

What kind of Growth Aides your talking about, like give me a name?

Are you talking about supplements from the beauty supply store?
:nono:
Im scared of the shelf life, still wouldn't go near them.

how long has it been since you started your healthy hair journey?

your hair might grow faster than you think.....

Its been about two months

Keep in mind that the AVERAGE growth rate a month is about 1/2". If you are having a hard time seeing your growth, try taking pictures of your hair once a month.

That being said, Nioxin products tend to address growth issues. Some members use sulfur based products such as Sulfur-8. You should take a look at both lines of products.

Minoval but this contains minoxidil, which is the active ingredient in Rogaine. For some reason a lot of people who use Minoval do not experience the same hair loss after stopped usage as people who used Rogaine.

Wild growth hair oil - It smells funny, but I love it & just mix it with other oils to diminish the scent.

thanks so much everyone
@omnipadme , how much extra growth have u gotten from wild growth hair oil ?

I'm not sure how much I get just from WGO since I use other growth aides, but my hair and scalp is always at its healthiest when I incorporate it into my reggie. I think it helps more so with retention- coats the hair & keeps away breakage

you can try moe's growth oil. The ingredients could be found at health food stores or get some sublimed sulfur and put a bit in some oil. There's megatek as well but if you''re protein sensitive you may need to be wary of that. The problem with applying greases to your scalp is it may cause excess buildup and block pores. It did for me at least. Just something to be on the lookout for.

moe growth oil:

Products and Supplies that you will need:
one glass jar
6oz of jojoba oil or macadamia nut oil
2oz aloe vera juice/gel
2 tblsp of horsetail herbs
plastic squirt bottle (the type use for applying dye – can be found at your local Beauty Supply Store)

Step by Step
1. Place oil and herbs in a the jar
2. Place jar in a pot of boiling water to heat the oil (remove the top before adding to the water)
3. Remove jar from boiling water and replace the top on it and let sit for three days. This is to ensure the herb can infuse with the oil
4. Using a strainer – strain oil in to squirt bottle
5. Pour in 2oz of aloe
6. Shake well before using

Oil your your scalp

Tips:
If you use Jojoba you may have to reapply every two days because your scalp may absorb the oil more.

If using the macademia oil you will reapply it once a week depending on your scalp’s oil absorption rate.

Continue to wash and condition you hair as normal. Be careful not to pile on a bunch of other products to avoid clogging your pours.

Wild growth oil is good. You can find threads about it going back to the very beginning of this board where people have used it with good results.

Or you can try castor oil - available at any drugstore, walmart and lots of supermarkets.

Thankyou ladies I think im gonna just settle on wild growth hair oil and see what kind of results I get

Be sure to smell your wgo @ the store- some bottles smell sweeter than others!
