Her hair is the picture of great health. It's longer than I first thought it was. What an exciting surprise. Thigh length. I hope within the next 5 years there will be a majority of Black women with naturally long hair. Thanks for this thread I have not visited her page in weeks now. It would be great if she had a picture album.

She has lovely hair. And she's 12? I can imagine how long it'll be at 15 or 16.

that child makes me want to go back to using grease and a hot comb. her hair is gorgeous. i don't think my hair would get that long flat ironing regularly and using grease though.

I think it could easily, but one thing to keep in mind is height. She's short (yes, she's 12), if you're taller you might have as much hair but it won't look like it does on her. I think these vids are more about encouraging parents to not do anything drastic to their daughter's hair than a goal for adults to shoot for, tho of course they can.

That much hair on an adult might not be so practical. LOL...keep in mind her mama does her hair. For her hair at that length, it's a 2 person job for now.
 
its to her thigh stretched on a not so tall person like myself I figure it would be at my booty stretched, I would love to reach full waist unstretched dont know if I ever will though :sad: your right that it must be a serious job to maintain too

her hair is amazing! i could never handle that much hair but it's always great to see where taking care of your hair can get you.
 
I just listened to (I think, her secrets UTube) sounds like an older lady's voice... She uses Vasiline..she's not the first person I have seen with really long hair say that they use it....hmmmm what's up with that?
 
I can't take :love: I would love to have hair this long :pray:. Jinxx is a member here and her hair is that long. When your hair is that long it's all about low maintainance. I would alwasy be in buns.

Contrary to popular belief, mineral oil won't kill your hair. The REAL secret here is that her mother does her hair (she probably helps) and doesn't put chemicals on it. In terms of actual manipulation, it's very little. They are hardly washing that much hair everyday and the conditioning step seems to go towards moisture rather than protein. Her hair is probably braided and/or bunned for school and daily life...she's just wearing it out for the vids.

They said they used the Maxiglide every 4 months or so, therefore high heat is at a minimum. I don't know if she blow dries it dry to any degree, but if not they simply oil and braid the hair wet and let it do what it will. Her hair would take quite a while to dry.

I'll bet there's an iron clad NO TOUCH policy for anyone outside of her family, perhaps only her mother, for this child's hair.
