Hay everybody! I am about to take my braids down in about a week  . After that I wanted to get a track ponytail put in professionally. I want to use the baggie method with it. However, when he puts it in it will last about two weeks. Is it safe to use the same baggie for two weeks :look: ? Is there anyway whether altering products or shortening length that i wear the peice that i can make this happen? And if so what are the best products to use doing this method. TIA!!

I am on the baggie with my own hair in four braids. I have to refresh and check my hair often. If It is wet I have to take the baggie on and off every few hours or so and sometimes foor more to let it slowly dry after a wash. I do spray also about every three days. Then I add some products( mine are all natural) as needed. If My hair is too wet it will get sort of souriing or mildewy if I leave the bag on with out the drying method I stated above.
If you have not done the baggie I would check on your hair periodically to see if it isn't too moist or to dry. I believe some synthetic products my not do well if no air gets in. A fermenting process may set in. That may be the cause of some ladies baggie attempts to fail or cause breakage. Some products are meant to dry. some are meant to retain moisture.
Good luck.

I have only left the baggie on for 1 week w/o removing it. I was wearing a drawstring pony and just being too lazy to do anything but remove the pony and throw on a scarf that week. I did not have any problems with my hair. I put oil cream moisturizer in my hair, and then also placed some oil cream moisturizer and hot six oil in my baggie and then threw it on.

if u are leaving it on that long. i'd suggest not having your hair wet, underneath the baggie. You probably should just use lots of oils and/or vaseline.

I had used a baggie last week, my hair was wet from when i washed it. i put some oils/surge/vaseline in it and used the baggie. and like 3 days later i took it off and re-wet it and re-sprayed some surge in it. i then took the baggie off 2 days later and i noticed a faint sour smell. like it was starting to go bad. so i think it was the fact that i had too much moisture up in there for too long.

Thank you guys for responding, I just got back from work that is why it took me so long to get back and respond. I think I will just keep it in for a week then on dry hair! Thanks again!
