Ayurvedics hair oil....I think someone here sells a homemade oil with Ayuredics in it? What exactly are they? Do they help improve hair any? I'm very curious about this... I also have another question. For some reason, when I moisturize, my hair curls up... and then dries curly... It's a dumb question, because I think I might be OVER-moisturizing my hair... is this possible?

I'm like, technically "more then a year" post relaxer (I did a quick, box-relaxer touch up March 15th... but I don't really count it because my hair HAS to have salon relaxers to get even REMOTELY straight...) so I was wondering...how could I create movement in my hair? I moisturize, co-wash, air dry... and it's always so STIFF, dry and hard to manage. Everyday I throw it up in a bun, to protect my ends (My hair's at that spot where it's touching my shoulders--the back is like, 1-2 inches below my shoulders..) I'm getting a touch up sometime soon, and will possibly be installing mircolinks for the next 3-6 months as a "protective, low management style"...but until then, I would like to have more movement in my hair.

I hope this post makes sense (: Thanks.

i don't know exactly how ayurvedic products help to improve the hair. in the almost-week i've been using shikakai and amla powders, i've noticed my hair is shinier and my scalp feels EXCELLENT!

yes it is possible to over-moisturize your hair... i'm natural and i've done this. :look: you should do a strand test - find a strand of shed hair (probably out of your hairbrush) and try to pull it apart/break it. if the strand stretches before breaking with an audible *SNAP* sound, your hair is healthy and your balance is right on the money. if you stretch it and it stretches A LOT and then practically stretches apart, barely snapping at all... your hair is in need of protein. if it doesn't stretch and snaps weakly, crumbling away in your hands... your hair is in need of moisture.

i would imagine it's hard to get movement in your hair if you have all that new growth... are you pressing/flat ironing? i need more info on how you're handling the 2 textures as you stretch your relaxer...
