This is the first time in months (since I got it trimmed in October) that I've successfully straightened my hair. Ladies, you should invest in Ion Anti Frizz Solutions Heat Protection Straightening Iron Spray from Sally's. This stuff did wonders for getting my hair silky, shiny, and straight without the use of oils. My hair has grown sooo much in 4 months since I cut it. I didn't realize how much because I hadn't straightened it. I'm really excited about my growth and the condition of my hair. I will try to find my camera and post new pictures in my album.

I am due for a trim, luckily, due to the lack of styling, my ends aren't too bad. My layers are also longer, so they don't bother me as much, I actually like them now.

UPDATE: I added a link to a pic a few posts down, as well as in my album.

I believe one of my sisters, who is natural, raves about this product. I'm glad you mentioned it because I've been meaning to write it down and go get it. She also uses coconut oil for touch up pressing with her Maxiglide. Makes her hair super silky!

So glad you had a good experience!!!

This is great info. I will try to look for this because I am planning to do a press in June so see how much progress I made. I cannot wait to see pictures.

One more question, did you blowdry your hair first or did you add the serum to airdried hair then flat ironed?

I blow dried, then sprayed each section with the product as I flat ironed as directed.

Thank you so much for posting this! Within the next two months I need to straighten my hair for a good trim and to see what kind of process I have made. I have not seen my hair straight since last february so I am excieted. I will be running out and buying this product. What kind of flat iron did you use?

Oh yeah, your hair looks beautiful!

Would you mind posting your step by step instructions. I haven't blow dried in like a year and I wasn't good at it then. TIA

Hmmm...I don't really have any special technique. Today I used Biosynthesis products that I had left, washed Bio Clenz and conditioned with Bio Phix. I added the Bio Phinish leave in and detangled and separated my hair into 6 sections. (I don't think biosynthesis is available anymore, I haven't seen a site for it in some time now). I usually use a Denman brush to blow dry with a concentrator adapter, but couldn't find it. So I just used the comb attachment. I blow dried each section straight. Then I just started to flat iron in rows, pinning the rest of my hair up out of the way. As I made my sections to flat iron, I sprayed with the protectant, combed or worked through with my hands or rat tail comb and pulled the iron through the hair slightly bending in down along the length to give in shape. After one row was finished, I moved to the next. I repeated until my whole head was done. I have a small iron, so I have to make sure I don't make the parts in my hair too big. Once done, I applied some Aveda Serum, and wrapped it up for the rest of the day.
