Has anyone tried this? It looks like a towel with little gel pads that you microwave and insert into the towel. I'm tinking about getting one, but I want to hear what others think about it first!
Wow! Thanks Marla - you just gave me an idea! No, I haven't tried the Avon heat cap but I do have a bigger gel pad (it's a little smaller than a standard size pillow) that goes in the microwave to heat up. Then it is inserted into a cloth pad to sit on. The heat lasts for several hours and I can put that on my head over my plastic cap! I don't have a dryer or anything to heat up the conditioner on my hair, I've been using the heat from my scalp and the wrapped hot towels over my plastic cap. Yay!

YES I HAVE HEARD OF THIS HEAT CAP AND WAS INTERESTED IN ORDERING ONE BUT I NEEDED MORE INFORMATION ON IT, LIKE HOW MANY TIME CAN THE GEL PACKS BE REUSED BEFORE BEING REPLACED, HOW MUCH WERE THE REPLACEMENTS PACKS. I ASKED THE WOMAN ON MY JOB THAT SALES AVON THESE QUESTIONS AND SHE WASNT ABLE TO GIVE ME AN ANSWER BUT TOLD ME TO CHECK THEIR WEB SITE WICH I DID BUT TO NO AVAIL THERE WAS NO MORE INFORMATION THERE THAN WAS IN THE BOOK. SOMEONE POSTED A LINK IN A POST I CANT REMEMBER WHICH BUT IT HAD AN ELECTRIC HEAT CAP LINK THAT WAS ACTUALLY CHEAPER THAN THE ONE IN AVON. THAT THE ONE I'M GOING TO PURCHASE AS SOON AS I CAN FIND THE LINK AGAIN.
My heat gel pad I mentioned earlier worked very well today, I must say. I did my deep conditioning then my regular conditioning. The gel makes the bag conform to my head somewhat.
It just looked silly. My bf couldn't stop laughing when he looked at me. But my hair is conditioned better than it has been in a long time!
This Avon Heat Cap does look tempting though. Here is the information I found from their site:
Thermal conditioning without needing to be penciled in. Hair therapy wrap works with your favorite conditioner (we recommend Mediterranean Olive Oil Conditioning Hair Mask). Apply conditioner to clean, wet hair; heat the wrap and gel pack inserts in the microwave and pull over wet, conditioned hair; twist and fasten with hook-and-loop closure for drip-proof fit. Wrap stays warm for up to 30 minutes. Washable white terry. One size fits most. Imported.
Here is an address to a heat cap that's a little less expensive than the Avon version. www.microhaircap.com
A group on another forum are getting together to do a group buy, & they're getting the cap for $7.50 + shipping. Perhaps this forum could do the same. Michelle is the contact person at microhair. Just thought I'd share.

well bernice I'm in if any one else is interested. If 8 bucks is all it takes to rid myself of been trapped under the dreaded heated dome u got my 8.
It burst after all of the years I've used it (for cold weather)... so now I have to get something else! I wouldn't mind going in with $8 for a microhaircap.
