how many people have used this with success..for you kitchen chemists like iris and patience, what's up with this? I wanted my health food store to order me some butter but they can only get the oil, soooooo..pros and cons please? I think I have 2 hours left to let them know something!

have you tried ordering it from FNWL (fromnaturewithlove.com)?
info from the site...Our pure avocado butter is expeller crushed from the fresh flesh of the avocado fruit. This is a much softer butter than any of the other butters we carry. Avocado butter is a very rich, moisturizing treatment for the hair and skin, and it has some natural sunscreen properties. Use it in soap and skin care formulations at 5 - 20%. Use smaller amounts of avocado butter in lotion bars. This butter can be a little heavy and greasy, but it is definitely worth it in small amounts. Avocado butter is a good butter for belly balms, lip balms, eye makeup remover creams, hair conditioning creams, baby bottom balms and soap.

4 ounces 4.25
8 ounces 8.50
1 lb 15.00 and so on

Gurl, I haven't tried the Avocado oil/butters yet. They're on my wish list when pay day rolls around

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful...

The oil is good too, just as good as the butter, all the same properties. i say get it, I use the oil and the butter

the oil is what just saved my hair from major clarifying dryness the other day

the only con is it doesnt smell great, not bad, but not great either..

the pros are numerous, very moisturizing and conditioning. the only reason i think the butter is better than the oil, is just because the consistency gives you the feeling of rubbing something into your hair and scalp...other than that i think the oil and the butter do pretty much the same things

Gurl, if you don't get outta my head!!! I hear that it's great though. I think Gabrielle 2 has used that in some of her hair butter recipes.

[/ QUOTE ] The pure mango butter is good too, its a harder/crumbly type butter, unlike the creamy consistency of the Avocado butter, but when mixed with oil(s) its great and smoother and softer.

you can either melt and mix it with oil or whip it with oil. im sure you will like it

DUMB QUESTION ALERT!!!!

How do you whip your butters? Do you put them in the blender? Are they lighter and easier to apply/use?

its not a dumb question at all....

i put the harder butter (i just recently did this with Cocoa Butter) in the blender and add some oil ( i used shea oil this time) and put it on whip

this is how hard the cocoa butter is , the fork is standing up in on its own

and this is after its whipped in the blender with oil, soft and creamy

I LOVE avocado oil I leave it the shower and mix it with my conditioner for very good noticeable results.
Sweet almond oil is not as good but is still very good. You can tell a difference with your hair.

Good stuff

I like it better than olive oil. I really like shea, but I was looking for something that was less greasy. I find avocado oil to have great properties but to be less greasy than shea.

I haven't tried it by itself though so be a little warned.

I've only tried it mixed with coconut milk and a deep conditioner with cholesterol.

Avocado oil is the best oil i've ever used on my hair, and so is avocado itself.

i added this to my humecto today and then rubbed some into my scalp, its tingled right away. its also touted to be a hair growth stimulant. i would thro all my other oils away and use this if i had to its remarkable.
