Aveda makes wonderful products, they may not all be for your hair. But they do stand behind them and they are made of the best botanical ingredients. The Brilliant line is formulated for Black hair. I use the Universal Styling Cream for straight styles.

i like the elixir, im going to try the pomade next for my newgrowth if i feel like paying 18 bucks for it!

has anyone tried the sap moss?

[/ QUOTE ]Yup, I have the 'poo. It's fine, not exceptional. Don't care for the smell though at all

.

I just tried the Sap Moss shampoo. It's not my HG shampoo but it's okay. It smells terrible.

I like the Brillant line. The conditioner and the leave in are really nice but you can find cheaper products that work just as well. I like their Elixir leave it. My natural hair loves it.

I am going to return the sap moss. I was not big on it but I was not sure if that was what she (jada) said. ALso I have been watching the reruns of Different World and there is no way anyone can convience me that her hair has not go through a MAJOR transformation.

love the elixir and cherry almond bark also. Have anyone tried their color treatments? I hear that the color/dyes are non-damaging and has few chemicals in it.

I use the leave-in Elixir and a few of their shampoos and conditioners.

This has nothing to do with hair but I always stop in for some of their free tea as well.

i love love love aveda products. their products are so good for your hair and their ingrediants are mainly naturaly derived(sp).
i like the
brilliant shamp and con
sap moss shampoo
sap moss nourishing concentrate( a great pre shampoo treatment)
the detoxifyer(a good clariying shampoo)
the deep penetrating hair revitalizer(heavy creamy protein conditioner)
cherry almond bark conditioner(a light proyein treatment)
curessence conditioner

things i've got but have'nt tried yet are
rosemary mint con
scalp benefits con

i've also had a semi permamnet colour in jey black whick was really good. it was really conditioning. contained no ammonia or peroxide and the colour did'nt run or bleed

Is the revitalizer worth the $24.99???

[/ QUOTE ]
yes every penny. the first time i used it it stopped all shedding and breakage completly. it's really thick as well if you like creamy conditioners

How often do you use it? What would you compare it to, is it a heavy duty protein like Aphogee, a mild like Emergencee, or a light one like Keraphix or Aubrey's GPB?

I've been to salons where all they use are Aveda products. I liked the products but I dont think I would spend my own money on it.

I tried it and like it okay. Someone from the board sent me some. I think it was Allandra when we first joined the old BHSGO board. The Cherry Almond Bark conditioner didn't WOW me but I was okay with it. What I did like about it was the people (white and black) kept telling me how good my hair smelled. To some it may be too heavy but it was okay with me.

once every 2-3 months
i would'nt say it was as strong as the aphogee. but it is'nt a mild protein conditioner. it's a strong recontructive treatment.

Wow your collection is almost the same as mine! Isn't the nourishing concentrate fabulous!!! Although I noticed I can get similar results by using the NTM pre-shampoo oil treatment and NTM shampoo(which is comparable to the Sap Moss shampoo) if you are on a budget.

The Deep Penetrating Revitilzer has got to be the heaviest and creamiest deep con on the market!

I did try the scalp therapy conditioner and really liked it!

The Universal Styling creme is awesome for holding straight and roller set styles!

The Brilliant humectant is wonderful for new growth!

Some of the products may smell strong while using but like mentioned before you get endless compliments by people about how good you smell(they can't always tell if its the hair they just know you smell good!)Especially the Brilliant line!

Hmmmm..what else...can you tell I'm a fan? LOL!

I currently use the curressence shampoo and conditioner. It is definitely an effective protein combo. My hair always looks and feels incredible afterwards. I occassionally use the elixir.

I wish I knew that the Brillant line was for relaxed hair. I would've bought that.

I also tried shampure, humectant pomade. There ingredients are phenomenal and smell super but did not really wow me.

Hmm...I have tried the Aveda leave in conditioner. I just can't find the bottle on the site so I can post it on here for you all to see. It smelled good. It was $12 or so. I also tried the blue squirt bottle of Brilliant Emollient Finishing Gloss/Serum with white rice I don't normally buy a lot of that, but THAT. Let me tell you. Was some good stuff. About $25 a for a wee sized bottle, but lasts me like 3 months. It's worth the money!!! I smoothed it on my ends and it really sealed them! /images/graemlins/shocked.gif I SWEAR! That's something that will preserve your ends. It didn't weigh my hair done and smelllllllllled gooood!!!!!!!!!! /images/graemlins/clap.gif Lol. TRY THIS IF ANYTHING from Aveda. Just sorry I couldn't remember the exact name of the spray on stuff. If I figure how to post pictures, I'll post a picture of the bottle. /images/graemlins/bookworm.gif [image]http://www.aveda.com/products/product.asp?ITEM=1403&DD=1&RN=10&SN=160&SCN=[/image]
