Does anyone use this? Is this good for those humid summer days and keeping your hair laying flat? What did it do, or not do, for your hair?

I use this and I think it is a really good product. I live in Texas and it has been hot here for a while now and it keeps my hair looking nice. I usually rollerset my hair and when I am finished I rub some of the pomade in my hands and through my hair and it keeps the curls from dropping and frizzing up. I also use a small amount on my edges to keep them from frizzing up. I will definitely purchase this again. Hope this helps. :)

I just purchased this product recently. I like it, it does seem to help with frizz. I also rollerset my hair and rub some pomade through my hair after I take the rollers out. I have also tried a little on my ends before rolling setting my hair.

Off topic: Mom23 Are you still using the Olive Oil Setting Foam. How Do you like it? Does it give a firm or soft hold? I was looking for a foam that give a little more hold than the ones I am currently using, not hard or crunchy though.

Yes. I am still using the setting Foam. I like it alot, and will definitely re-purchase when I am out. What I have found with the foam is if you want a soft hold just use a little, firmer hold, use more. I use it on each individual section I set as opposed to using it on my whole head before I start rolling. I hope that makes sense. :)

Is there a better product that is supposed to be an anti-humectant?

I recently purchased Sabino Moisture Manager. It is supposed to be really good at keeping the humidity away as well. I have not used it yet though so I can't give you a review right now. Do a search and read what others have said about it. It made me want to try it. I might use that and the Aveda together in this heat.

Thanks for the info. I may check this out soon, its more reasonably priced than the foam I use now

I think I will purchase this instead of the Aveda. Its about the same price and I read good reviews. It has been rainy here the past couple of days but the IC gel seemed to be good enough for now. We will see whenit gets to be around 85 degrees how my hair holds up. I'll prolly buy it when the weather gets hotter. Thanks.

Thanks for your review. If it's holding up to that Texas Heat I know it's doing it's job!!

I have Moisture Manage too. Didn't notice anything there either. :ohwell: I have yet to find an effective, non-sticky, anti-humectant.

I've posted a lot over the years about Aveda Anti-Humectant. I 've used it long before LHCF but with heat and it didn't do anything for me. After LHCF, when I stopped using heat, I used this pomade on my wet hair to seal in the moisture before airdrying in a rollerset and then a little on my hair after it was dry. This seemed to make a big difference and I find it effective, just not 100% against humidity.

I asked recently about Aveda Hair Spray, which is supposed to be very effective against humidity and one of the ladies here posted several weeks ago how well it worked on her hair. It isn't like a regular hair spray though that keeps hair in place, it's supposed to keep humidity from affecting the hair. I may just go ahead and try it in combination with my pomade, just to see how it works.:)
