I purchased some Aura Elixer due to what I heard about it. In the beginning,it was cool, but one day I used it and it caked up soooo bad in my hair. Has anyone else tried this and if so,what results did you have? Did you apply it to dry or wet hair? Your responses will be appreciated because excluding the cake, I love the way it defined my hair texture, plus I liked the smell.

What do you mean by "caked up?" Did you have other products in your hair when you used it?

I recently tried Aveda Elixir and I like it, I think, but it seems to dry quickly or something. Not too sure how similar these products are to each other.

Well, all I remember is using it as a holding product, since it does provide a stable hold.I can't recall if anything was in my hair, but I know other products (besides the ampro styling gel) do this to my hair.

I didn't experience any "caking" with the product, but I sure wish I could return it anyway. I too saw an online review on it and went out to get it. No matter how I used it, I just couldn't be pleased with it. I don't know what it was about it... maybe because it just didn't do anything for my hair *shrug*. That may explain why its a discontinued item on the Sally's Beauty website.

Though that same day I bought it I also got the Aura sampler to their black almond conditioner.... Mmmmm! That stuff worked wonders for my hair--felt like silk running through my strands.
It's not a leave-on though, but a good conditioner. Tried to stretch that lil' packet for 2 washes. I'm off tonight to get the real thing but I'm online searching for reviews on it and caught this thread. Wanted to leave my 2cents
