I just put in Black Orchid 3 days ago and now I have blue stained towels, sheets, everything!! The color is literally bleeding out of my hair. I left it in for 2hrs, wrapped tight in a plastic cap, and used my handheld dryer on and off. I think SistaSlick and some others had mentioned using this before with great results. Any advice is greatly appreciated...

i use jazzing cause cellphanes does bleed for no reason!other rinses(adore, loreal semi permanant) give great results and do not stain ur sheets. My advice to you is wash your hair again and this time use a deep con with heat to get some of the rinse out.

The rinse should be fine after that.

good luck.

I've used it twice. It was my first experience with a rinse. The first time I used it, I left it on as the instructions indicated, but it really was a true rinse b/c it ended rinsing right on back down the drain.:( Then, silly me didn't think to wear gloves so my hands were BRIGHT BLUE for three days straight and my hair did bleed blue for the next couple of washes. The second time I left it on double the time suggested and it worked so much better. If your hair isn't very porous, it may take longer for the color molecules to really cling to your hair. My hair doesn't really absorb stuff too well either so I had to leave it on for a good lil while, under the hooded dryer. Maybe it was that you used the handheld dryer though instead of a hooded one for maximum heat penetration and coverage across the surface area of your strands? You did leave it on for 2 hrs though so you would think something would have... I don't know! :scratchch

I also did not get the glossy shine that everyone raves about either, but the rinse did make my hair feel thicker. So I guess that a plus. Well eventually, I realized that I wash my hair entirely too much to really get the enjoyment out of a rinse that would last only 2-3 good weeks at the most. So I went permanent.;)

The most important thing to remember with the product is to let it cool before you rinse it, or it washes right out only leaving a slight stain on the hair. The colour will bleed the first few washes, it's a rinse. I don't remember it ever turing my towel blue after the initial application, so I'm not sure what that's about.

On a similar note, does anyone know how often you can do these? I did a clear one last week when I texturized, but I really wanted to try a color one. Can I do it a week later, or is that too much?

Did you do a search on the board before using the cellophane?

I posted about how I remembered there being something wrong with the black orhid cellophane. Lots of people said that the black orhid leaves really bad stains. So, I went with the coffee bean and haven't had any problems at all. I don't leave stains anywhere! I love it! It's not a JET black like I wanted, but it's definitely very dark.

Next time, use the coffee bean if you're going to stick with Colourshines, or go with a different brand. I'm so sorry this happened to you though. I had a similar situation with the Cinnamon cellophane...I left red stains everywhere! It was soooo embarrassing!

Try to stay away from the Black Orchid. I use CoffeeBean, and it's a nice rich brown/black color. Did you let your hair cool?? I let my hair cool down for about 20 mins, and I sat under the dryer for 45. And I also rinse my hair in COLD water until no more color rinsed out.

Thanks you all for helping me out.
I wish I had of done a search on 'cellophanes' before getting the Black Orchid. It looks like Coffee Bean may be my best bet, or actually sitting my butt still under a hooded dryer next time. I've used another cellophanes, Glorious Gold I think, and I had no problems what so ever. Oh well... You live and you learn :)
