Is it ok to do the protein right after you rinse the relaxer out and before you neutralize? Sorry if this has been discussed before. Which method should I do?

Method A:

apply relaxer
rinse
apply reconstructor
leave for however long
rinse
neutralize
dc

Method B:

apply relaxer
rinse
neutralize
apply reconstructor...

I will also be using Aveda DR so where can I fit this in?

Hey girlie!

I think both ways are good.

I prefer method A personally, but I think both are good methods vs. not using protein at all.

I always apply my protein after rinsing. I love the Aphogee Keratin stuff for that right now.

I would say option B. Only because I would be nervous about having a protein process on hair that hasn't been neutralized. But I dont do my own relaxers so self-relaxers may have a different method.

I do an aphogee treatment the week b4 and the week after I go to the salon for my relaxers. Unless I get a treatment with my relaxer and in those cases otion B is used by my stylist.

I'm with HoneyDew. I just had the best relaxer of life and that was pretty much the process I used.

relax
rinse
acv rinse
rinse
protein
neutralize
etc.

I was completely amazed and totally pleased at the positive difference in the results.
