post relaxer is when my favorite conditioners just don't do the trick. What do you use (that works well) once you've started to accumulate quite a bit of new growth?

I say Paul Mitchell The Detangler. Detangles very well, IMO and does a bit of moisturizing too, gives good slip.

Yes sir! PM The Detangler works like a charm on my 22+ weeks of new growth!!! The NTM Mask (diluted with EVOO) does a good job on my hair once the new growth gets goin...

The past 3 or 4 weeks I was CO washing with DDGB instead of my DDTA or NTM DDC, and I DEFINITELY think there's a difference b/c DDGB left my hair SOOOOOOO elastic and soft...and while DDTA does a good job, it has nothing on DDGB.

Nexxus Botanoil & Humectress w/ EVOO works wonders for 8+ weeks of new growth too.

Do you pre-poo? That made a big difference for me last week. I used PM The Detangler, DDGB, and EVOO...my hair was super soft before & after the poo, and it seemed softer and shinier after it dried.

I'll probably think of some more and come back later

CW with VO5 Strawberries N" Creme Moisture Milks Conditioner . It is a cheapie (usually $.89) but I simply can not comb through my hair without it when I have accumulated a good amount of new growth. I have extremely thick and coarse hair (almost forest-like on a regular day and jungle-like when there is new growth.) I deterred from it and tried Daily Defense but, truthfully I like V05 better. Besides, in the summer when I CW daily, I love walking around smelling like a Life Saver Strawberry N' Creme Creme Saver That is it's exact smell.

PM The Detangler is in salons & higher end BSS, but I've seen it in Target & Rite Aid as well

DDGB/DDTA is a hot commodity right now but um, I may be able to hook you up if the price is right...

Nexxus is found in salons & higher end BSS as well...but I've seen it in Rite Aid a couple of times...

The NTM mask is found at drugstores (i.e. Walgreens)

This isn't popular on the boards but it's my Holy Grail and always reliable, Got2B So Smooth Emergency Creme. Its actually just a good deep treatment contrary to the label. Its thick and pudding like and smells like orange cream- cicles, a little goes a long ways, but if you accidentally apply a little too much there aren't any consequences like with NTM. Basically it moisturizes and gives slip greatly. You get a 16 ounce jar for $5.99 at Walgreens or Target. Its pretty economical for the quality too.

Never had a problem with NTM DDC. Singlehandedly got me thru a 6 month stretch.
It also helps to comb thru roots/hair while under running water with conditioner in it. Get out massage your favorite leave in on new growth and comb thru.

I'm about 8 weeks post now, and the Capilo Milk & Honey Conditioner works very well for me. I CW with it, and my hair is very soft/manageable afterwards.

I think I may try the NTM or PM, because I keep hearing so many great things about them.

Cool advice, but what on earth does DDGB, DDTA, NTM, and DDC stand for??

I alternate between Capillo Milk and Honey Conditioner and Miss Keys 10 en 1. Both conditioners really help control my NG. Right now I am at 7 weeks. I CW with Capillo Milk and Honey and I can't keep my hands off my waves

Riva's Silicone Mix, is what I begin to use when I reach 10 wks post and up. It softens, adds sheen and best of all does not allow my NG to revert like it would if I used something else, and yes I airdry w/o rollers/ scarf or anything and it just does wonders. Haven't had the opportunity to try my beloved Humectress on my serious NG but can't wait to try it. ITA on the EVOO pre-poo's doing them in the early stages just helps out tremendously.

Biolage Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Ultra Hydrating Balm.

For me Thermasilk smooth and silky conditioner or victoria's secret so sexy nourishing conditioner for dry/damaged hair does the trick.

Nexxus Humectress, Motions CPR, Motions Silk Protein, Nexxus Keraphix, Mane 'N Tail Deep Moisturizing Conditioner...these still work for me after 9-10 weeks...they are still going strong.

I would say pre-poo treatments: leaving oil in overnight, moisturizing conditioner w/ oil left in for an hour or more, etc. When I do these my NG is more managable.

I like Miss Key 10 en 1 plus, it really cuts through my napps, and I use Giovanni leave-in for even more detangling action.

I was talking about PM Detangler. You are right, I have seen PM products at Target. I will check next time I am there. Like I said, the DDTA , I don't really use much any more. I still have some and they have it here. But so far V05 has been a tried and true for me. But, I am up for trying the PMD.
