I was elated when I pulled it out of the box because it only had a few parts but I think I am too stoopid to get this thing together. When you place the dryer down on the stand, about how far down the pole does it go? Mine does not seem to fit far enough down the pole for me to feel it is secure. Also, does the flap on the front of the hood open? Ever?

Which model do you have? Are you talking about attaching the hood? Mine just slid on I think it went like 2 inches down.
My hood was stiff but it got better after a few uses.

I have a 514 and it only goes down on the pole about an inch. Wobbles a bit and that hood is HEAVY. I am going to have my husband give it a good push. I don't want it to brain one of the kids.

Mines needed a good push too when I bought it. As for the visor, it need a strong hand too. I could not open mine and when I did, it almost felt as if it was gonna break, but it did not. As you use it more it becomes easier to open.
