That's an interesting article. My doctor told me that I was very low in vitamin D. I started taking 5,000 IUs (per her instructions) last week. I'm taking Vitamin Code Raw D3 by Garden of Life...just one capsule with breakfast.
I've been experiencing some heavy shedding so I'm very curious to see if this helps. I'm guessing it will take a few months to really see any benefits.
FYI: in case you are vegan: There were some folks arguing on the amazon product reviews that these vitamins claim to be vegan, but they aren't.

I tested low for vitD as well. I take liquid vit D 5000IU, but I need to be more consistent with it.

I take this brand as well! I was diagnosed low 3 months ago and took 5000IU for 6 weeks, now I take 2500IU & will continue indefinitely. I live in UK where we get maybe 3 weeks of proper sunshine per year!:(
Now that my levels are up one of the many benefits is a much better, brighter mood.
Edited to add: I think I have had more shedding as well.
