Articles on Pre-21st Century Hair Care?

A week or so ago I saw a thread containing vast amounts of information on vintage hair care. I became so intrigued I decided to bring in some information to my school organization for black history month. As much as I LOVE the information in everybody's post, I need some actual articles/book passages. Anything at all would be appreciated. I dont think too many people think about hair when it comes to black history month and I just wanted to give my peers some information about it. Thanks!
