I need another relaxer and it's only been 4 weeks. The last one took really well. My hair is so bushy it's not even funny. I refuse to let me stylist put one in my hair.....we gotta wait at least 6 - 8 weeks. That's too soon. My hair isn't shedding or anything, actually it's very healthy, strong, and growing really nice but I just can't let her do it....we'll just break out the irons tonight cause I refuse to allow a chemical to touch my head today!!!!!!!!!!!

just needed to vent

Why is it bushy? Are your roots dry? My NG was very dry yesterday and I went home with an afro that I didn't go to work with!

Hang in there--don't give in to the Dark Side.

that sounds like some serious growth. what are you using? I admit to previously relaxing my hair every 4-6 weeks anyway. But I know it was quite damaging and i only had like a 1/4 of an inch of new growth. Sounds like you have much more.

Do you want to try a cowash to see if that can soften up the new growth. I am now 7 weeks post and have at least 9-12 more weeks to go before another relaxer. Try to see if a cowash can help and try not to use too much heat since you say your hair is healthy we don't want any heat damage. Try a protective style to help you stretch longer. I would hate if you would have to relax after just 4 weeks

when I first started on the board, which was about 3 months ago, I cried because my hair was damaged, my edges were chewed up and I had to cut my hair and start over. This may sound crazy but I now have (what I call a mullet cut)....where the back and sides are flipped but the top is a little shorter. Well, my hair has grown so much in three months....I mean, the back actually touches my neck and the sides actually touch my ears and I can wrap a roller around it. This is phenominal (sp) for me, since I couldn't even roll my hair in February. I haven't been doing anything special but washing it once a week, massaging my scalp, making sure I take care of my ends, and reading this board. I found a combination of products that work for me but right now, my hair looks like it got wet. Oh-well....she ain't puttin' no chemicals in my hair tonight....forget it!!!!!!!!
