Are ur hair habits rubbing off on your daughter?

For those of you that have girls over 5, are they speaking "our" lingo? Are they talking about deep conditioning and rollersetting? I've been taking care of my baby's hair from the start. She tells me what conditioner she likes, talks about what she'll do under the dryer. She's 8!! It's a good thing - I think she thinks this is how everyone cares for their hair. I just thought it was funny..

on my son. he likes to put stuff in his hair, brush it, or wash it. i hope he keeps this up when he gets older. my baby girl will be 1 year old soon, so she is just living in the momment!

My 5 year old dd LOVES to get her hair washed. She picks which dc's she wants to use and she enjoys sitting under the dryer, so she can "read" her books

I got my oldest daughter to co-wash now. She knows who to run to when she wants her hair done. My youngest daughter knows not to touch shampoo without my permission. She also knows that when she's detangling she can only do it when her hair is wet. My son just cut his big hair, but before that he knew how to moisturize LOL I don't think my kids will ever be as obsessed with hair as I am, but its good to know my crazy/good habits are rubbing off on them.

My niece (8 and natural) loves to let me do her hair and she actually listens to me when I give her advice. She also thinks I'm crazy LOL

DD is 11 and has staples that include Qhemet AOHC, honeybush tea gel, Oyin HHC, and Hairveda Whipped Gelly. Her no job havin arse got a lotta nerve She loves to have her hair cw'd with ORS Replenishing and Moist 24/7.

I didn't even really think much about this til now, but while over her dad's last weekend she called me and was like "ma, I need to come home." I said "what the heck for?" She said "cuz I left my scarf at home and Jaye (her stepmom) only has cotton. I can't sleep in no cotton scarf ma!" I took a satin scarf over there I know its my fault. She'll sit there and look at products with me too.

I'm affecting my little brother. My friend and I have special lingo when we speak of certain hair-related things (because we don't want everyone to know how obsessed we are ) and my brother will use these words when talking about his hair. Also when he sees my camara he always wants me to take pictures of his hair because he knows I take growth shots with it. Also if he sees me putting conditioner or oils in my hair he will want some in his hair as well.

You know what? I am not even mad at her nor you for takin' that baby her scarf! She knows what's good.

I don't have any kids, but if I ever do have a daughter, I will be way more involved in her hair care than my mom was with mine.

I don't have any girls ~sniff sniff~ but if I did, we'd be doing the co-wash and all together.

I think this is GOOD. Keep it up, ladies. And adopt a neighborhood or family member/friend's child to do this with too if you can. Maybe we can change the way our girls care for their hair. I'm thinking of adopting my little cousin. Last I saw her edges were balding....

My stepdaughter has good genes and her hair has been below hip length before. Right now it is below WL and thick. She thinks im a little nuts, b/c shes just always had hair. I give her alot of my so-so products like the kinky curly custard (smell bothered me) and she sleeps with a scarf more b/c she doesnt want to mess up her hair than fear of breakage. She cant understand why when she offers to blowdry or flat iron my hair i run like the devil is chasing me - lol.
