Are there any naturals with APL length hair..

if I wear it straightened, it hangs at my shoulders...
if I wear it in a natural braidout or twistout, it hangs around my ears/cheeks...
if I wear it shrunken, it's above my ears in a little twa.

Mine poofs out and hangs. I live in a high humidity city. In the bathroom, it's hanging, when I walk out the door, it's poofing. By the time I get to my destination, it's poofy but hanging. By mid day, no more hanging, just poofy cotton candy hair. This is also very drying to my hair so I don't wear it out hardly at all...

Do you think if you didnt live in a high humidity city that your hair would just hang all day? Because I know once I get my hair to hang, and it's still damp when I go out it'll poof like no other, but I just want hanging hair.

a lot of what your hair will do depends on your texture, imo. i'm about 2" from apl and i suspect that those 2 extra inches won't make my hair hang fully. my hair only hangs if i've manipulated it in some way to hang. i'm 4a/b (mainly 4a texture).

I don't think so. I live in a low humidity area, and if I don't stretch my hair at all, just shake and go, it will shrink my APL/BSL length hair to neck length. I have a couple of examples from June and July in my photo album. My hair is a very coily curly type 4 though, so people with looser waves/curls and/or less kinky hair might have better hang time.

I don't wear my hair in its "afroic" glory often. The last time I wore it out which was a couple months ago, the hair in the front shrunk to my cheek bone. It had both hang and poofiness.

Thank you for that, I will definitely be stalking your fotki But I'm starting to get what everyone is saying. I dont mean I want my hair to hang all the way to APL but I'm curious as to the longer your natural hair gets, does it have more of the poof factor or combination.

If its not too hot out my hair will get waves and shrink a bit, which I don't mind but sometimes it can be a bit annoying.

If I don't flatiron in the morning before I walk out the door and its hot as hell out... you better believe its going to turn into a big poof LOL I will look like Diana Ross!
