leaving conditioner in your hair?

I'm planning on doing WNG's for the summer, and the past couple of days i've just let the conditioner dry in my hair. Are there any long-term negative effects of doing this?

What's WNG?
To much conditioning will lead to too much moisture which will weaken the hair and cause it to break easily. What kind of conditioner are you using? and how are you using it? Some do use conditioner as a leave in and some use it as a daily moisturizer, but I don't think they are applying it as heavy as you would if you were getting ready to deep condition it. You'll definitely feel it when it gets too mushy and that will be when you'd want to use something with some protein in it. Just pay attention to how your hair responds cuz not everyone's hair is the same.

Texasqt...wng is wash n go :)

OP: It's ok to use conditioner as a leave in just make sure you give yourself periodic protein treatments to keep your hair from getting too mushy. I use conditioner as a leave in myself. :yep:

Thx I just use a light coating and I have started doing periodic protein treatments. Just wanted to be sure! :p

How often do you wash? I used to do this when I was going to the gym 4 times a week. I never saw negative effects and I would cowash after every workout and leave a slight layer of conditioner on the hair.

That's what I plan on doing. I'm trying to work up a sweat at least 5x/wk and work up to working out every day. Figure I'll just have to pay extra attention to my hair to make sure it doesn't swing too far on the moisture side.

Thanks for your response!
