No, happylocks, all these products really aren't necessary for healthy hair!! You have to keep in mind that most of us here are PJ's (product junkies), and if you hang around here for too long, you most likely will become one too!!

You actually only need one or two good shampoos, a reconstructor, a protein treatment (if you have breakage), a good moisturizing conditioner, and a good leave-in conditioner. The thing is that it seems like once you start buying hair products, you just want to buy more and more, I guess for variety

I think the trick is to find the right products for you. Unfortunately it takes a lot of trial and error and money to find the right products unless you are lucky. I usually buy one product a month to try out. I know what is satisfactory for me but I want better. I am always looking for a really moisturizing conditioner that won't break the bank, my hair is like a sponge. It is so porous that is sucks up moisture.

I personnally do not take vitamins for my hair. I take vitamins for my health. I take gnc ultra mega for the b vitamins, without high does of vitamin b I get sometimes like chronic fatigue syndrome. I take calcium since I am allergic to milk, I take vitamin c to boost my immunity since I have a lot of allergies, I take zinc for my immunity also. I take msm since it is good when you have a lot of allergies. I also take efa. I rotate my vitamins, I do not take them all at once. I take 1 ultra mega, with 1 efa and one other vitamin in the morning then again at night.

Thank you

I have only a handful that I re-stock...but I went through alot of products getting to this point...

I agree with the ladies. I went through a lot of cash to find the products and regimen I love now. Hindsight and all..

I figure when all is said and done I only need about 10 products.
I also take vitamins for health only...a multi vit when I remember, Brewer's Yeast and I'll be incorporating cod liver oil into my routine. And that's it. HTH

Happylocks,

I was saying the same thing when I first joined the board. Whenever I wash my hair, i use one deep conditoner and than rinse. I then use another conditioner but only for 5- 10 minutes. I then add in a leave in conditioner, spray my hair with S-curl activator, use Elasta QP mango butter. My hair has great shine and is very healthy. I also take a lot of vitamins for health and hair growing reasons. MSM is great for my hair and joints especially since I work out like crazy. Biotin is great for my hair and nails. I don't run out and buy every hare care product recommended. I try out a brand for several uses before by something new. My goal is to use up the products I have at home and then add some to the list. If a product gets a lot of good reviews than I add it to my "to try" list.
