Since protein powder is just protein, do the more expensive brands have some hidden advantage? If not, can someone reccomend a cheap brand that I can mix with the ultra thick hair shake since it only has like 13 grams of protein (correct me if i'm wrong)
I use Genisoy non gmo unflavored soy powder.
It taste really chalky, but has a lot of fiber and it's organic. Each morning I had half a scoop to oatmeal.
It costs $15 at GNC.
All protein powders are NOT the same. Obviously, some have more grams of protein than others, but they also differ in the amount of fat, carbohydrates and sugar.
It all depends on WHAT you are taking the protein for: weight, hair, etc. I take a protein shake that has no fat and very minimal carbs because I want to lose weight. However, I know that the protein is also benefitting my hair growth.

thanks kitawita. what type are you taking. and is it whey protein?
I take Nature's Best Zero Carb Isopure. Yes it is a whey protein. I mix it with soy milk instead of water. It tastes really good, like a milkshake. They have chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavored shakes. You can either purchase it online or at GNC.
Nature's Best Zero Carb Isopure is one of the BEST protiens available. It tastes great and has an awesome nutritional profile. That, TwinLab's Whey Fuel and ISS's whet isolate are my favs.
All protien powders are not equal. There are different sources to be considerd. Are they made from Whey, soy, egg, milk etc. Plus what else is added? Stick with bigger brand names. Check out www.dpsnutrition.net for great prices.
