Good progress but has she made a video of her growth rate and regimen before using the jbco? That could very well be her regular growth rate.

ETA: Nevermind. I see this is a retention method not a growth aid since she only uses it on the length of her hair.

I have tried it, the ultimate level, and it didn't grow long for me. It did thicken my hair but I didn't get that much growth. My hair looks super healthy so I happy about it but I just couldn't get to BSL in 3 months.

I still add JBCO to my conditioners all the time, it's good to have.

You were applying it to your scalp or your hair?

When I was doing the challenge i used the JBCO shampoo once a week. I added JBCO in Extra Dark to my conditioner. I added it to my scalp and leave in conditioner. Then I sealed with it. I was hardcore with it, lol. It did my my hair thicker. I would bun and I would soak my scrunchie in JBCO so my hair wouldn't break either.

I did it for about 4 months.

I love the thickening but I really wanted the growth.

This winter I'm going to try the Bee Mine serum to see how it works and bun as much as possible.

I love her hair!
Maybe I will try this... what exactly does the regimen entail besides the baggying she did in the video.
Where do you get JBCO?

If you go to her blog, click on queen regimen or something. I forgot that quick lol but she outlines it. But remember its a retention regimen it doesn't increase your growth rate. sams247.com sells JBCO and http://tropicisleliving.com/. I think I've heard that some indian grocers sell it as well.

^^ oilsfromjamaica.com sells it as well. I am willing to try using JBCO. I've heard great things even before seeing this post. If it even helps thicken my hair I will be satisfied with just that.

^^ Oh yeah, I know. But I am definitely interested in the thickening part!
Thanks for posting the link!

My sister had a very simple regimen that consisted of moisturizing her hair with JBCO and keeping it braided. Her hair was at it's longest at that point (APL). I am glad I saw this thread...I need to restock on some JBCO.

I just started using the JBCO like a month and I tell you what my hair is really loving it and yes thickness I do have. I use mines everyday.

CO in ANY form is a thickner and helps with growth. My personal experience is that the difference in growth or thickness between JBCO and the CO I get from Walmart for $2 does not validate the difference in price. But that is just my opinion regarding my hair.

The difference is in the conditioning quality and absorption rate. You'll notice this same difference between any "extra virgin" or "unrefined" oil vs "refined" oil it's not just a castor oil thing.

Thanks for posting this OP. I want to try this. I watched her application video and she stated she did this initially every night, now only 2-3X/week. I have been using castor oil for the last 2 weeks and I love it. I have the Palma Christi, cold pressed, hexane free kind. I'm too late for the challenge. I will also be mixing this with a ceramide, maybe.
I suffer with low density and thin strands. I really would like to see some thickening.

Maybe there's something to this castor oil

OT: The song she plays as her background music gives me peace.

i use regular CO from my pharmacy and i swear by it. i use it
with hollywood beauty cator oil (just two drops to make it less
sticky) & that makes my hair SO much more softer. as a matter
of fact thats all i use in my hair right now, that & s-curl for
moisturizing my TWA (i water it down because i think it's too thick).
i cant stress how soft my hair ... after seeing this im gonna baggy a
few times a week

Hi, Tiye....I just bought ''cold pressed/cold processed castor oil because I plan to use it for a scar I have as well, they say it's hexane free so it wont cause me to break out....do you know if this would be as effective as the JBCO cause I want to use it for my hair also?...THANX

Looks very great for progress. If anyone is interested here is the reggie:

REAL QUEENS REGIMEN

*
wash hair once a month with jamaican black castor oil shampoo
*
you should also clarify every other month or as needed with Black Soap (liquid or raw) to get rid of any build up
*
deep condition after shampooing with jamaican black castor oil protein conditioner
*
blot hair dry with a t-shirt (it's more gentel on the hair than a towel)
*
do the green house effect at least twice a week or as often as you'd like (the more the better)
*
dust ends every 1-2 months (this is optional, but highly recommended)
*
for best results wear protective or low manipulation hairstyles
*
try to avoid using heat - air dry instead of blow drying
*
if you flat iron your hair, only do it once a month
*
be gentel with your hair - don't comb and brush so often
*
try to not use products with chemicals in them because they produce the wrong kind of build-up which will force you to shampoo more frequently - use natural products/oils
*
eat right and drink lots of water

GREEN HOUSE EFFECT

*
On damp or dry hair apply a generous amount of JBCO throughout your hair (or how ever much you can tolerate) making sure to coat the ends in the oil to create a protective barrier against pollution, fabrics, dryness ect.
* This regimen works well with various protective hairstyles such as bantu knot outs and braid outs, so once you’ve oiled your hair you can prep it accordingly depending on how you plan to style it the next day.
* Place shower cap or plastic bag over your hair to lock in the moisture from your scalps natural oils and heat from your head. This creates a green house, steam effect during your sleep which is the best time for your hair growth in this case.
* Or: for those who are relaxed or natural but flat ironed, you can apply a shower cap or plastic bag to ends only loosely securing it to your hair with a scrunchy or clip.
* Place a head tie/scarf over your head & shower cap making sure that it’s nice and snug; for best results also wear a winter hat over your scarf to help produce more heat.
In the morning you may find that your hair is a bit damp from the moisture the steam effect created.
* You can either blow dry it on cool setting, let it air dry a bit before styling, or go ahead and style it while it’s still damp and let it dry as the day progresses.

* if you don't really care for the JBCO smell, you should definitley try the Shea Oil with Mango & Papaya it will make your hair smell amazing!

I was interested but the shipping cost were a little too much for me. The shipping cost more than the product.
